I had another chance last Friday to return to Memphis Blues to capture James using his smoker to create the wonderful smoked meats that he is known for. This was round two of my visit to his establishment to help tell his visual story after being so heavily impacted by Covid restrictions and lockdowns. Another premium product built by Award Construction. This is Edmonton’s first stand-alone Jollibee’s restaurant in the west end by West Edmonton mall. From what I am told Jollibee’s is the McDonalds of the Philippines and judging by the traffic lined up down 92 Ave I can see why. It was a treat to capture the interiors in this space. Memphis Blues Out-Take During our recent shoot Memphis Clues owner James asked if they could have some family photos taken without masks so he’d have them on file for when we come out of this Covid cloud. His little guy is six months old and is growing fast so he and his wife wanted some pics showing him at his present age. He was great to work with and gave me about 20 min of his attention. In one instance he puked. I pushed the shutter to capture the Kodak moment and came a...way with this out-take. When I saw it in production I had to laugh for I think all of us as parents have experienced that moment when our little one pukes. The expression on his mom’s face is priceless and tells it all. I was fortunate enough to have a chance to photograph the newly completed Pilgrims Hospice Society space in the west end. Walking in to the lobby you’d never know it was a hospice. It is bright, cheerful and peaceful with its use of bright colors, indigenous paddles and nature framed photos on the walls. I wanted to share the rest of the images captured at Q-Cigar for Wolski Design. Wolski’s design has created a space of sophistication, elegance and character. Constructed by Seagate Contract Management, this space is amazing. As mentioned in my last post, it is only one of two in Canada. When one thinks of days past and cigar rooms the assumption is that its only a guys thing to do.
