Battle River Railway Trestle: Going old school with an aerial photo I shot this past September. This historic but busy train trestle is the second longest in Canada. It was completed in December 1908 and is still in use. It spans the Battle River at Fabyan, Alberta (near Wainright).
The Common Goldeneye always makes its appearance here at this time of year. We've enjoyed living alongside the Trent Severn Waterway for over 30 years and never fail to notice their arrival.
I headed to Crowe Bridge to try out new filters I had just bought (the filters are essentially sunglasses for my camera lenses.) I brought my snowshoes just in case. Yep, they were very helpfull as the snow was wet and heavy and deep.
I headed out to Crowe Bridge this afternoon to test new filters (essentially sunglasses for my camera lenses). I brought my snowshoes with me and I'm sure glad I did. Not a soul was around.
