Without the NDP scrapping the work well underway on the George Massey Bridge replacement in 2017, the project would be nearing completion at a far lesser cost. Daily commuters suffer enough and should not be tolled for a new crossing.

This week, I was pleased to recognize the exceptional work of the Ladner Business Association, Sunny Tsawwassen, Delta Chamber of Commerce, and City of Delta - Local Government during the holiday season. Their collective mission to spread joy and celebrate the unique businesses operating across our community deserves our praise and gratitude.

The NDP have received the business case for a new crossing at the George Massey Tunnel. However, the details of the business case will not be made public until the preferred crossing is chosen. I sense further delays are on the way and that is unacceptable for the thousands of commuters using the tunnel every day.

The Surrey Board of Trade agrees that a replacement for the George Massey Tunnel is needed now! The question is will the NDP listen?

Commuters south of the Fraser deserve to know which crossing will replace the George Massey Tunnel and when this crossing will be built. I was happy to pose these important questions to the NDP government today in Question Period.
