Hey I.A.T.S.E. Local 168 Members. In anticipation of our Annual General Meeting on Sunday April 25th at 3 PM, we are building a little slide show as our " pre-show ". We have a lot of pictures of our Members at work, but always welcome more, in particular of our FOH, office, Box Office, and bar workers. Send us a picture here, or email them to the President at his email address. Take care, and enjoy the sunny weather!!

We at I.A.T.S.E. Local 168 know that IATSE IATSE Canada work is good work. Our Kin at IATSE 891 have created a website to showcase the good work in their Local, and it may just be a place for our Members. And yes, you can be a Member of both Locals. Check it out here: https://ourwork.ca/

These words and images shear at the heart of I.A.T.S.E. Local 168, but do give us hope that we will be back, doing what we love. #SaveLiveEntertainment #WeMakeEvents #ForTheLoveOfLIVE https://www.nytimes.com//op/covid-nyc-theaters-closed.html Thanks to Tazewell Thompson & Devin Oktar Yalkin for the words and images.

It is not the place of I.A.T.S.E. Local 168 to editorialize on issues, so we bring you this footage of our Member Jeremy Herndl and his work as the Artist-In-Residence at the Fairy Creek Blockade as something to watch, enjoy, and maybe choose to act upon. For those of you don't know him, Jeremy is the Lead Scenic Artist with Pacific Opera Victoria in addition to his fine art practice. You can catch more of his work on Instagram where he is @jeremyherndl https://youtu.be/56smSWPqUMA

I.A.T.S.E. Local 168 wishes a very happy and peaceful #eastersunday to our Members, followers and friends who celebrate it. While we cannot get together in the ways we used to , we can still get out and appreciate the lovely places we are so very lucky to live in. A walk in the sun is good for the soul.

On this day, we wish our American Kin, both in our Local and the larger IATSE , all the best as they do their duty and determine the future of their democracy. We hope for a smooth process, and respect for the results.

Hello @iatse168 followers. We hope you got out and voted yesterday. Once the results are official in November, the Local will send Members a letter they can personalize and direct to their new or reelected MLA. This letter will be a reminder to those folks that our industry still needs support, and that the provincial government is in a position to help. If you have read any of the recent letters from the Local you will know we're part of a coalition pushing for measures to support individuals working in live entertainment, and our work continues. #SaveLiveEntertainment #TheUnionBehindEntertainment

Hello @iatse168 Members. There is a good chance work has passed you by because you are in arrears on your dues. Recently a letter went out from the Local in which the President told you how to get your dues covered if you are behind in these odd days. Some of our employers have work, and we want to get that work to our Members. As much as we love our Permittees, Membership has its privileges, so get up to date. Letters from the Local often have vital information like that, so keep your eye on your email.
