All the ice is gone and the park and launch is open here.. limited parking because of the wet ground and renovations.. still only $10/day parking and $4 a launch CASH ONLY! please fallow parking signs so you don't get stuck or ruin my lawn please and thank you...

Spring is in the air.. snow is melting.. spring upgrading has begun... ice cream stand getting a upgrade to start offering hot and cold drinks and start a small breakfast and lunch menu (any menu ideas will be considered) , caneo kayak launch getting redone..lower trees branches around the launch are cut back nice view now! Redoing the trailer sites... hope to have everything up and running for the start of the season.. don't for get trailer rentals are on airbnb.ca to book vacation spot limited days available book soon.. A little snow here this weekend.. but cant wait for the summer and for some icecream and kayaking and canoeing..

Just a reminder we are offering 2 trailers for rental this 2021 season for you canoe/kayak lovers or just to get away and enjoy the beautiful area... please go to airbnb.ca pick your date and britt area and they should pop up... we are under new ownership and will be doing some changes and updating for the upcoming 2021 season ... will be open end of April or beginning of may depending on weather.. thanks and hoping to see everyone this 2021

After getting settled in and starting to set up for the next up coming season I'm excited to announce that I have another trailer that will be available will be posting pictures soon. I will be posting rates and taking reservations as of Tuesday November 24... News Flash!! Ice Cream on the Rocks has a new owner Mike Battle takes over the property and businesses as of end of October.. Mike is running the ice cream stand, kayak/canoe park and launch, and likely the airbnb.ca camper trailer. And maybe, maybe adding new twists to the food service.... Message him with ideas and suggestions once he moves in and settles into the Britt community. Sharon and I hope everyone gives him the love, support and patronage that we have had over the years. We have been blessed by knowing you're out there! So welcome Mike and family into your lives.. Give him encouragement as he takes on the businesses. Sharon and I will dearly miss Britt. Just another reminder.. The park and launch is open, on the honour system. And as in the past..we do have a friend in the area that checks on the vehicles..and to make sure everyone is staying honest about parking here. If Sharon and I aren't here.. You go to the ice cream stand. See the black mailbox.... In the mailbox you will find a bunch of envelopes with forms inside them.. Take one out, fill in your info,vehicle info. and figure out have much needed to park n launch. Price is per day, not per night.. (we suggest calling our cell # if you can't figure it out) Put the form, cash, into the envelope. Deposit it thru the slot in the ice cream stands blue door. Park up the hill, to the left, behind the camper trailer and the outhouse. Use the outhouse please, not the great outdoors! Also there is a portajohn down in the gravel lot in front of camper. It will be here until 1st week in October. As well as the sink/water. Pack your trash out..Don't start any camp fires. And you may camp on property as long as you have called in that you are doing that, and pay for it. I maybe setting up cameras this year.. I have found evidence that people seem to feel it okay to just wander/drive up and around on my property.. Thank you.. See more

Its almost closing time! We are down to just small amounts of 8, only 8 flavours! We will try and open tomorrow. Maybe dodging rain and high winds though!... I keep forgetting to put this out there. If you have come to our place and lost a pair of sunglasses. We have a pair that was found by the picnic table under the willow, and I found a pair of prescription sunglasses off the dock.. Let us know if they are yours..Thank you

While my hunny was watching the stand today.. I went berries pickin' Made some yummy jam out of these bad boys!!

Disaster averted... Our big dipping freezer went on the fritz, again, on Sunday.. We managed to get all of the ice creams into the smaller chest freezer, a freezer in the cabin.. Took the old thing up to Sudbury to a repair shop used last year this morning.. Well bad news..the poor ole thing was DOA.. ... The repair shop owner even said he wouldn't even try and fix 'er. :( (It is a 1995 model..lol) So frantic calls, looking online by both of us for something, this late in the season, and reasonable price, to replace it. new or used... Found one, new, in North York..Nella Supplies. yaaaa! Drive down there from Sudbury, get it, load it and drive back to Britt.. So Britt, up to the Nickel, down to North York, and back all in 11 hrs.. Unwrap, get it in the stand..and plugged in and down to -15F in one hour! SWEET! So we are all good on serving up those new flavours.. Make sure y'all stop in! See more

I hate to do a rant but this is important! I had a neighbour stop by my park n launch here in Britt this morning.. She owns a Home out on the north shore of Byn...g Inlet..one of the last ones on the road, north side. She tells me that yesterday a large group heading out of the inlet stops at a small crownland island near her place. This groups stops, eats some lunch, including bananas.. throw their garbage, and peels on the island.. They drop their drawers, crap there and hang it out to pee.. All within sight of her home.. I assured her "I'm sure no group that launches with us would do anything of this sort of thing" And "I'm sure the leaders/guides of groups wouldn't allow this to happen". She said this has been happening a couple times a summer for couple years. ( we provide a restroom here so this shouldn't happen) So, If you are part of an organized group or friends getting together for a day paddle or overnighter... 1) Use the restroom before you leave your launch site. (make sure you are using a launch site that has one, find one or if its a private home doing launching, insist on one.. If they tell u to do your business in the bush, take your business somewhere else.) 2)Do Not stop on wee little islands that don't have the cover to do your "potty business". 3)Don't stop at islands that are anywhere near someone's home or cottage..Not to camp, not to potty.. 4) There are islands with "thunder boxes" installed on them. 5)Do Not leave your trash on crown or private land. And apple, orange & banana peels are trash!! They aren't "native" compostable food.It sure ain't "bear or fish food"! 6)Try to have NO glass jars or bottles.. THIS area is sensitive and endangered Georgian Bay Biosphere. If you see someone messing this or any other area call them out on it! Together we can save our wild lands and islands. Black Cherry...Cherry Cheese..Chocolate Peanut Butter... So lots to choose from, so come on over and try some new ones or one of your old favourites!
