We dropped off 13 backpacks filled with school supplies for children ranging in grades from kindergarten to 8 at the Caring and Sharing Exchange. https://www.caringandsharing.ca/ Share in Student Success, Leave no Child Behind. This program provides tangible assistance in the form of grade-appropriate stuffed backpacks. After the 2018 fundraising campaign, a total of 4,007 children received back-to-school assistance (3,300 through Sharing in Student Success and another 707 through our partnering agencies).

Stephanie dropped off some school supplies to the Kanata Food Cupboard. Every little bit helps! If you have any extras laying around they would love to take them off your hands to help children in the local area!!

We were part of something big and we’re not just talking about the 30-seat Big Bike. Iceberg employees raised $2415 which will help close the research gap and stop women dying unnecessarily. Heart disease and stroke remain the leading cause of premature death for women in Canada, yet two-thirds of heart disease clinical research focuses on men. That’s why we’re investing even more into understanding how their hearts and brains are different from men’s. We’re committed to saving the women we love. But none of our work would be possible without Big Bikers. Thank you, Heart and Stroke https://lnkd.in/eun2q66 #heartandstroke #bigbikers

In July a group from Iceberg headed to the Ottawa Food Bank Farm in Stittsville to get our hands dirty and help out!! This year the Ottawa Food Bank will harvest 100,000lbs of fresh fruit and vegetables as part of their Community Harvest Program. Throughout the growing season at the 5-acre farm, thousands of volunteers help with everything from planting to weeding to harvesting the produce. Our Iceberg team was out for a few hours on a Saturday morning late July hand-weeding the watermelon & squash patches in advance of the harvest to come! The food from the farm helps support nearly 40,000 people in Ottawa who use the food bank each month. Thanks to everyone who joined us to help make a difference in our community!!

Several members of our Iceberg team volunteered their time at the Ottawa Mission in April 2019. The Mission provides not only food, clothing, and emergency shelter, but a wide variety of innovative life-changing programs that help people regain their dignity and provide hope for a better future. Iceberg's culture is one that encourages all team members to give back; to each other, to our customers and to our community. The rewards are insurmountable and so we encourage other organizations to give back as well.

We all know quality time with family is paramount in building stronger relationships. In honour of #familyday on Monday, February 20, 2019 the Iceberg Networks Corporation family donated survival kits for families not as fortunate as ours through the Ottawa Food Bank and Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa. As part of our #corporations extended family, we thank you for your continued business which helps us fund programs like this. Happy Family Day 2019 to everyone. #businessculture #givingbacktothecommunity #giving #thankful #corporateculture

We cut the cake on Friday to celebrate another big Iceberg milestone. Last week we achieved Bronze Partner status for ServiceNow, recognizing our success in helping customers successfully deploy the platform for Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) projects. Go Team Iceberg!

Last week our Iceberg team celebrated Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. We sampled food prepared by our colleagues Deivanai and Plammy, then headed outside and lit sparklers -- a daytime alternative to the customary fireworks display that lights up the night. Diwali is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere and symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance." During the celebration, temples, homes, shops and office buildings are brightly illuminated. Preparations and rituals for the festival typically last five days, with the climax occurring on the third day coinciding with the darkest night of the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.

SMASHING PUMPKINS FOR CF: Once again this year, Iceberg CTO David Pearson (left) brought his homemade trebuchet to the Squash CF event in support of Cystic Fibrosis research. David says: "The medieval siege engine comes through thanks the help of many. We launched around 110 pumpkins on Saturday to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Despite the rain and cold, there was a pretty good turnout." cc: Cystic Fibrosis Canada - Ottawa Chapter

Congrats to our Iceberg colleague Vivek and his teammates on the Defence Cricket Club. This year the team won the A Division Challenge Championship, which featured competition from teams and players in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. The Club is part of a historic league known as the Ottawa Valley Cricket Council, established in 1920. Some of the games are played at Rideau Hall, the official residence of Canada’s Governor General, on a historic pitch that dates back to 1865. After more than 150 years, cricket continues to be a growing sport in Canada. Nice trophy Vivek!
