From New Brunswick last week out to BC this week, we continue our Board Bios with Leah Best, Head of Knowledge at the Royal BC Museum and ICOM Canada Director elected in 2019. Learn more about Leah's work up to managing a curatorial team of 8 historians and scientists at the provincial museum in BC. Reflecting on the current pandemic situation, Leah notes that "the biggest opportunity for Canadian museums coming out of COVID-19 is reckoning with our own racialized and gendered systems and making a commitment to be actively anti-racist not passively non-racist." See Leah's bio and more from the Board here: https://www.icomcanada.org/2020//20/icom-canada-2020-board/
