Soccer Training is Cancelled for ALL teams tonight, Thursday, Nov 12, and tomorrow, Friday, Nov 13, read the full report below. Hello ICSF Families, Earlier today, we received further information from viaSport and BC Soccer regarding the recent Public Health Order. While we were originally told that travel between Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health Regions was based on where the teams were located, this has now been updated to travel restrictions based on where individual p...layers reside. Specifically, we have learned the following: The Order States: No person may travel to or from the affected area or between the regions of the Fraser Health Authority and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority for any sport related activity, including practice, training, games or tournaments, unless they are an identified by Canadian Sports Institute Pacific as a high performance athlete affiliated with an accredited provincial or national sports organization and are already training in the affected area and subject to the safety guidelines of their provincial sports organization. Clarification: The Order now clearly states that travel is not permitted for these or any sport activities. The High performance athletes and their coaches who are permitted to travel are those individuals that have been identified to a targeted athlete list with Canadian Sport Institute Pacific by their PSO or NSO - as we are not the high performance program which the order makes an exception for As we are still working through the implications of this as to who is and is not eligible to play in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including which of our coaches are impacted), we have decided to CANCEL ALL TRAINING TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. We will be in touch again sometime tomorrow with an update for the weekend. We understand that we would all like to be on the field, but as has always been the case, the safety of our ICSF Family is of the utmost importance. Congratulations to Frank Valente on being the recipient of a the BC Soccer 2019-2020 Award of Merit. The Awards of Merit are presented to individuals in recognition of contributions to soccer, during a period of ten (10) or more years, as a player, manager, coach, official, or administrator at a club, district, or league level. Nominated by members, approved by the Board of Directors. Frank Valente's work with the youth over the past 38 years exemplifies his selfless dedication to his players, passion for the game and an all-round commitment to the game of soccer. Frank Valente also participates and volunteers in activities that enriches the soccer community, local schools and organizations. He consistently puts in time and effort that assists in the overall well being of his teams, his club and the soccer community.
