Ever wonder what some of the benefits of sending your child to Christian School are? Besides the many educational benefits, there are some amazing spiritual results also. But don't take our word for it. Check out this report from the Barna Research Group tracking the spiritual development of young adults who attended a Christian school. https://www.barna.com/schooling-spiritual-development-ray-/
Look at what Mr. Werenich's grade 5 & 6 class has been up to here at Immanuel Christian School! They have been reading through the Chronicles of Narnia and as you walk through the 'wardrobe' into their classroom you are met with snow-dusted pine trees, enchanted lamp posts, magical 'fire-flowers' and books, books and more books! At Immanuel Christian School we cultivate and encourage a love of reading, perfectly paired with an abundance of imagination!
Hey everyone, take a look at us! Our vans are ready to pick up our students on Tuesday morning. At Immanuel Christian School, we are ready to welcome all of our families with our caring staff, class sizes all limited to 15 students, all Covid protocols ready to go and excellence in teaching and learning. So excited for Tuesday!
Immanuel Christian School is getting ready for our return to school on September 8. We have a few spaces left for you. If you have been thinking about private school where you get real value for your money, classes under 15 students, a solid safety school plan, a caring and nurturing teaching staff, open communication and of course, a biblical worldview, now is the time to sign up. Just contact the principal, Rosa Peterzon at [email protected]. Current parents, if you agree, make a comment and post it here. And, please be sure to share this with all of your Durham friends.

What does a caring and safe school culture look like? It is a place where all partners students, staff, parents, and community members treat others fairly with respect and kindness and act in a socially responsible way towards all members of the school community. We want to congratulate our graduates of ICS! We had a beautiful, outdoor, socially distant ceremony. I couldn't be more proud of our graduates, their speeches and their love for God. We pray that you feel educated, encouraged and equipped to pursue your dreams in this world of constant change. We want to thank the Immanuel community for supporting our students with cards and a horn-honking car parade!
Don’t forget - tonight our grade 8’s are graduating from ICS! We would like to invite all of you attend a drive-by congratulation, horn-honking car parade to wish our grads well at 6:30 PM! You will enter the school parking lot as usual following the one way traffic signs until you reach our regular school door entrance. Once you drive by the grad’s and wish them well you will can continue to move on and exit the driveway. (Or do another round if you wish!) We hope to see you all there!!!
Today, Thursday, June 18th, we are asking you to return all of your school borrowed computers, ipads, musical instruments, music books, white bins, reading books, novels and any other supplies such as scissors, rulers, etc. which belong to the school. Please do not forget charging cards and ipad covers. There will be strict protocols in place and you will not be able to enter the school. Teachers have prepared bags of students' personal belongings from shoe bins and classroom bins for each student. These bags will be labelled with your child’s name and you will do a drive by pick up and receive them. At this time, you will also receive your child’s report card. We will ask you to come to the school between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
So many great photos and videos I have to post on FB from ICS. So many problems with my rural internet for posting. Sorry that I haven't been up to the regular postings as in the last few weeks. Here is one of Mrs. Rykonen singing our theme song, Soul on Fire, at chapel two weeks ago. Still trying to get the video to upload. But she did an amazing job and the kids were doing the actions. Thank you for leading us in worship Mrs. Rytkonen.
Some more music work by our students. Still learning music and still placing the importance of all subjects during distance learning. This is the Immanuel Christian School way!
