With the onset of Covid-19, there has been a sudden demand for all kinds of protective equipment. One piece of equipment currently in high demand are protective shields, which businesses are now using to help ensure the safety of their employees, and clients. Realizing that we have the talent, and the tools, we recently put together a few shields for the Holland Bloorview Research Institute. Hi All, With school being out and the kids spending more time in doors we have put together a small list of games they can try out! Most of these games require minimal controls and are easy to play, and most of them (excluding the sports games) do not require multiple timed controls to play. If you have any experience playing these games, we would love to hear your feed back, as well as any suggestions you may have for accessible friendly games! A neat tool we did come across was Blue-Stacks which can emulate mobile games on a PC. These games are ideal for minimal commands yet can still be very fun. Happy gaming

As Covid-19 continues to have an immense effect on our world, Ideas for Independent Living has been required to modify usual operating procedures . IdeasFIL has been deemed an essential service by our provincial government, as such we will remain open until further notice. In order to adjust for economic uncertainty as well as abide by social distancing procedures, our operations will resume under these temporary guidelines: - -... - 1) At this time, we are not seeing clients at our facility, nor are we conducting assessments or visits of any kind. This is to ensure the safety of both our employees and clients. Currently scheduled meetings can be rescheduled, postponed, or cancelled. 2) Manufacturing and development capacity has been reduced to minimize employee contact. This includes scaling back of both our electronics and mechanical personnel 3) Shipping and receiving lead time may be increased. We ask that any incoming packages be sanitized as much as possible, and not handled by anyone presenting symptoms, in order to reduce the risk to our staff. 4) Our staff are practicing social distancing and disinfection as per suggested guidelines, these processes do not allow us to operate quite as efficiently as usual. Please understand as our overall operations yield to these added measures. - - - We at Ideas FIL encourage everyone to continue to practice distancing and other necessary procedures.
