If God is So Good Then Why

April 8 2020 It is nearly Easter and as I read this piece from the book I felt it so appropriate as we go through this Covid 19 lock down. How much we need God and His gift of Love in our lives. Feb 5 1986 GROWING IN HOLINESS Excerpt from a past poem;... Jesus says, be perfect like My Father. That seems so hard for us to do. So, many say, Why should I bother? And fall by the wayside as a rule. He meant that one should never say, Compared to that guy I’m OK. But to have our sights on higher goals. Yes on perfection for every soul. Keeping this in mind we should ask ourselves, - What are the higher goals that we are to achieve? When we look toward Jesus as our roll model, we can clearly see that He had many opposing forces. He warns us too, that if we come to a oneness with Him, we can expect many similar problems. Jesus did not spend His time worrying about what others would think. His sole purpose was to bring people to God and open the gates of heaven. Jesus never did a thing on His own. He always prayed to the Father for every need He had, and He glorified God. Jesus was perfect like the Father is perfect. Matt. 6:33 says Seek first His kingship over you, His way of holiness, and all these things will be given to you besides. We can only accomplish this if we turn towards God our Father, Jesus our Saviour and the Holy Spirit sent from God to make us united with Him. In the law of perseverance that God gave, we are assured without any doubt that our efforts are not done in Vain. As Jesus tells us in Luke 11: 9-10 So I say to you, ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and it shall be opened to you. For whoever asks, receives; whoever seeks, finds; whoever knocks is admitted. If we compare ourselves to others and think that we’re O.K. compared to the other guy, we must really get in touch with Jesus once more. Men are equal in the eyes of God. Our pride blinds us to look at what God is calling us to be. We are placing a judgement that is not fair because we really don’t know why people do the things they do. In fact a lot of time we don’t know why we do the things we do! Since Jesus is perfect like the Father, we should really come in tune with Him when He says, I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you would really know Me, then you would know the Father also. From this point on you know Him; You have seen Him. Jesus could not give away something that He did not possess. What a treasure to behold. We too could not give away what we do not possess. So when we look at the other guy our next question should be Do I see him only through my eyes or through the eyes of Christ. If we ask we shall receive the answer.

This morning I opened the BOOK to this poem from July 21 1984 and it is so where I am. All and I mean everything I have is by His grace. July 21 1984 HIS COMPLETE GIFT Or IT’S BY NOTHING I’VE DONE... I can boast no credit For the truth and love in my life Because it was freely given by God; It eases so much strife. I did not earn it I did nothing good at all. I only turned around When I heard His call. I am special to Him But no more than anyone else. We are all special to Him Because we are all a part of Himself! Yes one part of the mystical Body That God has formed so true. Part of a whole creation So be careful of what you do. Listen closely to Him As He speaks gently out to you. He is calling you much closer In all you say and do. Recognize His presence In your life so strong. He will pick up all the pieces When things go wrong. He’ll take your burdens from you Once you’ve handed them to Him. He’s there, right there inside you So go out on the limb. The limb is so long and narrow But has handles on each side. They’re Jesus and the Spirit They’re there to be your guide. The limb that seems so shaky And makes you scared beyond compare Only to find its’ safety With Jesus everywhere!

This is a poem from Sept. 2017, Judy died in Dec 2017. It was a very hard struggle going through it all but God had a plan we just didn't know what it was. We did however know He was always there holding her in His arms. Poem 7 The BIG Decision is Finally Made... Like in any reno job, final decisions can only be made by the one in command. For my reno, that means it can only be me who tallies the votes and takes a stand. My first choice simply could not be, since no assurance could be attained. So, I thought it best to tear down the ceiling and the walls until only the floor remained. Now by making such a drastic change to this home of mine, One would think I’d be so sad, and just sit around and whine. But this is not the case you see, since our Lord has revealed Himself to me, In the form of the body of Christ, to love and care, and be so nice. For in the hardest times of all, support continuously came to me. It readily appeared from across the world, and right here in my community! Support came through encouraging words, prayers and meaningful gifts from the heart, Making me sure that all was freely given. In fact, it was right off the charts! This is so very important, because this reno without it would be so much tougher. It is hard to imagine going it alone, since there simply could be nothing rougher! I so praise God for these generous gifts, at this time when I think I’m near done and can soar, For like any reno on an older home, wouldn’t you know it, I learned something more. March 24 1983 DON’T PUT OFF UNTIL TOMORROW Why put off until tomorrow ... What you could do today? If you keep this up You may run out of life to pray. You are only here a short time And then your end will come too; Just as everyone before you Has left this world for one anew. But where will you pass to from here Once all is said and done? Only if you have found Christ You can be assured, that it’s heaven you’ve won. God made us in his own image And in His likeness too, Not resembling in the body But the spirit is so true. When we are at one with Him It is His will that we do. Giving up the old ways And moving fully into the new.
