Nothing better than a giggling baby....

I Found Time 15.01.2021

Ahhhhh......I'm back from our holiday. We had a fantastic week of unplugging from the world. Long walks by the ocean and through the Kiwi Grove where we stayed.... We spent a few days just vegging out in our cottage. I caught Dan staring into space one day and asked what he was thinking about. His response was, "Nothing, my nothing box is empty and it hasn't been empty for a very long time." That's when I knew that he was totally relaxed and it made my heart sing. Our lives are busy and often stressful and this trip had been postponed several times before we actually got on our way. I made a vow to turn off SM and only have my phone on for emergencies. I was pretty good at keeping that vow. I think I only went on SM a few times and for a very short period of time. I talk a lot about self care and how important it is to your physical, mental and emotional body. Here's the thing, I wasn't doing enough self care and Dan certainly wasn't either. A friend of mine ended up in hospital a few weeks ago for burning the candle at both ends and being everything to everyone at all hours of the day and night. This made me realize just how important it is to set boundaries on how much time I give to SM and to my followers. I took a sabbatical from SM for quite awhile and I'm still partly on one. I gave up doing FB lives. Realizing that I too was burning out and wasn't providing the quality I expect from myself to my followers, I choose to disengage for a while. What I learned from all this, is although it is my job to be there for my followers, to support you and encourage you on your journey of building a business, or dealing with whatever conflict comes into your life. It is not my job to be on the job 24/7, it's crucial to set business hours and stick to them. Yes, sometimes an emergency will pop up and that's ok to deal with. However if we don't take the time to take care of ourselves, then we are of no good to others. If we burn out, we cannot give our best to you the followers. Moral of this post.....You and your family come first, ALWAYS! Then your business and your followers. I am grateful to everyone of you that support me and show up by liking, loving and commenting on my posts and live videos. I look forward to returning to FB lives hopefully next week.

This is something to think about....when I read it, it took my breath away.....simple words with a huge impact... As a parent I would DIE for my children...... Sometimes living a healthy life style seems daunting but when you put it into perspective of this post, perhaps it's not so daunting after all......... Our family has always lived a reasonably healthy life style. We aren't perfect and we do enjoy the occasional indulgence but for the most part we do our best....
