Hello everyone Re: 10% Temporary Wage Subsidy for Employers After requests from CSIL Employers for clarity on the subsidy eligibility, we contacted CRA via telephone and asked if CSIL Employers are eligible for the 10% Temporary Wage Subsidy. The CRA agent verbally confirmed that CSIL Employers do qualify.... However, although the Agent’s ID number was obtained, a verbal confirmation is never guaranteed. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you exercise caution if you receive the subsidy. Our recommendation is not to use extra hours or spend the money right away from this reserve until after your 2020 CSIL Employer year end is completed, submitted and CRA has accepted the T4. If for some reason CRA decides not to recognize CSIL Employers as being eligible after all, they will expect employers to balance their year end as usual. Some employers may not have enough surplus to do that, so please keep this in mind. Reaching a CRA Agent was fairly quick and because this information is not 100% clear, you may want to contact CRA yourself at 1-800-959-5525. You will need to provide them with your CRA CSIL Account number, which normally ends in R0001 and ask if you qualify for the 10% Temporary Wage Subsidy. If they say yes, ask the Agent for their name and ID number for your records. Also, here is the information related to the Wage Subsidy: Link: https://www.canada.ca//temporary-wage-s/tws-calculate.html Please remember, that this is not related to the Pandemic Pay for Employees. Thank you
