A beautiful comparison When one thinks about the concept of tawakul (relying on Allah), he remembers the embodiment of tawakul Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon hi...m). Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was commanded by Allah to leave his beloved Hajar and his son Ismaeel in the land of Mecca right beside the holy Kaaba. Mecca was a barren land with no inhabitants. Even then Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had full faith that Allah wouldn't abandon his family and that He would take proper care of the them and provide them with their sustenance. That is indeed a great manifestation of tawakul, however there is another moment in history in which one of Ibrahim's descendants (peace be upon him) revealed impeccable reliance on God (tawakul). A form of reliance that was so great it exceeded Ibrahim's tawakul. Who was that descendant? It was the heir of Ibrahim, the hero of all heroes, Aba Abdillah alHussain (peace be upon him). Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) went to Karbala and took his womenfolk with him knowing exactly what will befall him and his womenfolk. He knew that the fate of his men was that they will be slaughtered and the fate of his women was that they will become prisoners and be taken fron one land to another as captives. On the day of Ashura, he was surrounded by no less than 30 000 troops as the traditions confirm and He knew these men had absolutely no mercy for him, his family or companions. Even then He knew that if he departs from this world, Allah will take care of his successor, Imam Sajjad, his beloved Zainab, and the rest of his sisters, his daughters, nieces, wives and the rest of the family (peace be upon them all). Subhanallah! When one looks at the supplication of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) on the day of Afarah, he feels that Imam Hussain was gazing at the upcoming events of Karbala as He was on mount Arafaat. For example right at the start of the supplication, He describes Allah saying: The "talaa'e3" cannot be hidden from him (Note: one the meanings of Tala'e3 is the group(s) of soldiers that advances the rest of the army. They are called Tala'e3 alJaysh in arabic) And all things deposited with him shall never be lost Subhanallah! It was as if he was saying "My Lord one day i will leave this world and I will entrust you with the princess of all beings, my heart, Zainab alKubra, and with my beloved Um Kulthum, Sukayna, Ruqaya, Fatima, the rest of the family and last but not least, my soul, Zainil Abideen and his son Mohamad alBaqir (peace be upon them all). My Lord! I have full trust in you that you will protect their lives and although they will be mistreated by my enemies you will protect them." That is the extreme form of reliance. Yes Prophet Ibrahim and Imam Hussain (peace be upon them) had more than full trust in Allah. They were certain that Allah would fulfill his promise in protecting their families. The question is what is our degree of trust in God? Allah has promised us many things in the holy Koran and we Muslims all have faith that the Koran is the word of God. Thus, the question each one of us must pose to himself or herself is how much trust do we have in God's promises? Allah has promised to answer our supplication when he said: Call upon me and I shall answer you Surat Ghafer V. 60 He promised to amplify our wealth if we pay charity when he said: {245} Who is it that will grant Allah a goodly loan, so He will multiply it to him manifold, and Allah straitens and amplifies, and you shall be returned to Him. (Note: what is meant by loan in the verse is the amount of charity you pay. Allah considers it a loan because he pays it back to you just as someone pays you back your money when you lend them money) Suratul Baqara. V 245 He promised to grant us a way out (of problems or hardships or miseries) if we remain pious when he said: {2} and whoever is careful of (his duty to) Allah, He will make for him an outlet, Suratu Talaaq V.2 And He made many other promises. The question is how much trust do we have in God and how much of that trust is manifested in our actions??? Peace be upon those who were the embodiment of reliance, Mohamad and his holy progeny, especially he who was slaughtered thirsty on the coast of the Euphrates and his avenger (may Allah hasten his reappearance). 23 Rabi3 alAwal 1442/ Mon. Don't neglect the Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance)! Ibn Abi Ya3foor (may Allah bless his soul) is narrated to have said that Imam Sadeq (peace be upon ...him) said: : : . Whosoever believes in the Imamate of my forefathers (meaning all Imams from Imam Ali to Imam alBaqir) and offspring (meaning Imam alKadhem and the Imams who came from his offspring) however (he) disbelieves in the Mahdi, who will be part of my offspring, will be like he who believes in the prophethood of all prophets and neglects the prophethood of Mohamad (peace be upon him and his family). Note: this tradition indicates that he who believes in all eleven Imams but neglects the last Imam, Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), his faith won't be accepted by God. It also indicates that the belief in Imam Mahdi must not be taken lightly at all for it is compared to believing in the prophethood of Mohamad (peace be upon him and his family) : : : . At that point Ibn Abi Ya3foor addressed Imam Sadeq (peace be upon him) saying: My master! Who is the Mahdi who shall be part of your offspring? He replied: He is the fifth (Imam) who shall be part of the offpsring of the seventh Imam; he will be in hiding/occultation, and it will be forbidden upon the people to mention his name. Note: Imam alKadhem (peace be upon him) was the seventh Imam and after him came five Imams (one after the other). Each one of them was the son of the previous Imam. The five Imams after alKadhem were Imam Ridha then Imam alJawaad then Imam alHadi then Imam alAskari and then Imam alMahdi (peace be upon them all). Also please understand that there are multiple traditions stating that one cannot mention Imam alMahdi by name during his occultation. Some scholars have understood that this applies only to the era of the minor occultation, whereas other scholars exercise caution and avoid mentioning him by name (peace be upon him) during the era of the major occultation as well. Yes, mentioning his beautiful titles such as alMahdi, alHujjah, Sahib Azamaan, and alQa'em is permissible (may Allah hasten his reappearance). Source of the tradition : Kamaalu Deen wa Tamaamu Ni3mah for Sheikh Sadooq (may Allah bless his soul). Peace be upon the Imam who walks accross the globe...peace be upon the Imam whose existence on earth is evident for those who use their minds properly and for those who have true certainty....peace be upon the hope of the believers and peace be upon the sun that remains hidden behind the clouds of occultation. Baqiyatallah...help us combat the difficulties, hardships and sorrows of this era for we are truly in need of you. Thank you for all the help you've granted us until now and all the help you shall grant us in the future. Peace be upon you wherever you may be and upon your forefathers, especially He whom you shall avenge, the Imam who was slaughtered thirsty on the coast of the Euphrates, Hussain... 20 Rabi3 alAwal 1442/ Fri. Traits of a believer Imam Sadeq (peace be upon him) is narrated to have said: : ... A believer is very patient during hardships, remains firm during shaky circumstances, ... Very satisfied with what He has been given...the tradition continues until the Imam says... . He (the believer) doesn't cross his limits and oppress he who hates him (as in he remains just even with those who have hate towards him) He doesn't commit sins for the sake of those whom he loves (for example: if his loved ones committed a sin or some form of injustice, He won't accept their sin or crime, nor will he support them in it, nor will he stand against those whom they oppress/oppressed. In other words, he doesn't allow his love for his loved ones to take control over his decisions or change his values; he adheres to truth even if that leads to criticizing his loved ones) People are at rest from him (as in he doesn't hurt others verbally or physically, doesn't give them headaches, nor does he strive to bother anyone; he is a source of peace for his community) (however) His soul endures hardship due to his acts (as in he strives to self-build and remain on the straight path; he battles his ego, desire and anger, day and night, thus his soul feels hardships as he continues to undergo this on-going battle) Source: Bihar al-Anwaar citing Da3awaat Araawindi Note: If you feel that you are missing some of these traits then don't despair and don't accuse yourself of being a disbeliever. Rather strive to acquire the traits Imam Sadeq (peace be upon him) mentions and sooner or later you will acquire them. Ultimately, believers are at different levels however with willpower, true dedication and aid from Allah, one will reach his goal. Peace be upon Imam Sadeq, his forefathers and successors, especially upon He who was slaughtered thirsty on the coast of the Euphrates and his avenger (may Allah hasten his reappearance) 7th of Rabi3 alAwal 1442 H/ Oct. 24 2020

May Allah greatly reward you O son of Hassan, as we pass by the tragic martyrdom anniversary of Imam AlHassan (peace be upon him). Who are you weeping for today... O son of Hassan, your grandfather Hassan or your grandfather Hussain? Or is one eye shedding tears for Hassan and the other for Hussain? Without doubt you weep for both. You weep for the poisoned liver and the severed head. Hurry O son of Hassan for no one will seek vengeance for your forefathers other than YOU. All of them await your rise... may God hasten your reapperance and peace be upon you wherever you may be.

When the women of Egypt saw Prophet Youssuf (peace be upon him) they were so mesmerized by his beauty they cut their own flesh with knives they were holding in ...their hands, however they didn't feel pain because the beauty of Youssuf had completely absorbed their attention. Centuries later, a lady called Ja3dah bint alAsh3ath (may Allah curse her and her father) poisons and kills He whose beauty wasn't any less than the beauty of Youssuf; she kills the embodiment of physical and spiritual beauty, the master of Youssuf and all prophets (excluding Mohamad-peace be upon him and his family), the master of the youth of paradise, Imam alHassan (peace be upon him). How could she do it? I truly don't know! Didn't her heart break for him? Didn't she feel the least of pity for him as He was vomiting pieces of his liver? If this tells you anything, it tells you that Ja3dah, those who were pleased with her action, those who did takbeer when they heard about Imam alHassan's demise and He who sent her the deadly poison were evil to the bone...they were true devils.
