IIPJ stands in solidarity against systems of oppression and injustice. The tragic death of George Floyd is a manifestation of deeply rooted social inequality and institutionalized discrimination of racialized minorities. In 2019, IIPJ published Police Stops and Searches of Indigenous People in Minneapolis: The Roles of Race, Place, and Gender by Marina M. Gorsuch and Deborah T. Rho. They found that Native Americans were disproportionately more likely to be stopped, searched, and arrested compared to people of other races in Minneapolis. These police activities were concentrated in communities with larger populations of Native Americans. Read the paper at https://doi.org/10.18584/iipj.2019.10.3.8322
