ISLAND HEALTH POSSIBLE COVID EXPOSURE NOTIFICATION Temporary Closure August 27 30, 2020 Dear friends and family of Il Falcone,... As you may have already seen, Island Health has issued a possible exposure to COVID notification for Il Falcone Restaurant on Sunday August 16th. Everyone who dined with us that evening between 3 and 9 pm has already been contacted. There is no known risk to anyone who has been to Il Falcone outside of this specified date and times. Island Health representatives have been in contact with us and we are following their directives. Out of an abundance of caution, Island Health has instructed us, the staff of Il Falcone, to self isolate for 2 weeks from August 16th. All being well, we will reopen on Thursday September 3, 2020. We are in the process of contacting everyone to cancel upcoming reservations for August 27-30th. Unsworth Vineyards (Cowichan Valley) winemaker, Dan Wright, will be presenting four different expressions of Pinot Noir to showcase the potential and multi faceted wines that can be made with Vancouver Island’s star grape variety. Chef Andrey Durbach (Comox Valley) has created a four course lunch to pair with each wine.... In the spirit of La Nouva Normalità, or the new normal, we have switched things up a bit: APERITIVO/HAPPY HOUR One of our favourite Italian experiences is the aperitvo ritual so we’ve decided to swing open our garden gate at 3pm. Rain or shine, come enjoy an Italian inspired cocktail or a glass of wine with a plate of antipasti, crostini or a dozen of our local spot prawns in garlic butter. The Aperitif Hour a la carte menu will start at 3pm and end ...by 5pm to make way for dinner reservations. NEW HOURS We are now open from 3 to 9:30 pm Thursday through Sunday and Holiday Mondays. RESERVATION POLICY We have moved to a reservations only policy to help us stagger guest arrival times and to maximize bookings as we have had to significantly reduce seating capacity to maintain physical distance between tables. Reservations are set for 2 hour seatings and we have allowed 15 minutes between reservations to sanitize the tables and settings. Reservations booked after 7 pm do not have a time limit. We are Hatching Plans for a Thursday June 4th reopen! Earlier this week Dr. Bonnie Henry lifted her March 20th order to close dining establishments and WorkSafeBC released their COVID-19 Protocols for in-house and patio dining. Falcon Pop-up is on for Mother’s Day Weekend! This Friday and Saturday Chef Andrey will be behind the stoves cooking up pasta to order. Roll up to the patio entrance (one-at-a-time) between 4-6pm to place your order and take it hot to go. For Mother’s Day, pre-order a Prime Rib Dinner with shrimp cocktail to start and tiramisu for dessert. Email us your order before 6 pm Friday May 8th.
