Two @NunavutLegalAid lawyers were at Ilisaqsivik this week to do public legal education workshops, as well as organize a community legal clinic to offer legal information, referrals and advice. During their time in Clyde River, they also got a chance to meet several Ilisaqsivik-trained counsellors and visit the cabins built for the 28-day on-the-land addictions treatment program. This is the first time the community had access to legal information and support like this in a l...ong time, which inspired us to think about how to improve access to justice in the territory in the future Qujannamiik to the Law Society of Nunavut and Department of Justice Canada for making this trip possible
