Plant spirit medicine is the shaman’s way with plants. It recognizes that plants have spirit and that spirit is the strongest medicine. Spirit can heal the deepest reaches of the heart and soul. Eliot Cowan | photo by Emma Love Photography

We all need support. Someone to be there for us, to listen to us, to love us. We think of doctors for physical support, therapists for mental support, people close to us (and animals!) for emotional support, BUT WHAT ABOUT ENERGETIC SUPPORT? So many of us don’t realize that the roots of our experience are largely spiritual and energetic in nature. To truly feel well, we need to take care of our energy the way we take care of the other aspects of self. We need to care for our ...spirit just like we brush our teeth, bathe, or nourish our bodies. We often get our spiritual needs met when we are in community, whether in communion with nature or with other humans that inspire us. When we have proper support. When we are cultivating healthy, interdependent relationships. Many of us have never even seen a healthy interdependent relationship, but that doesn’t mean we can’t create one. There is hope. There is help. I’m here for you. (photo by the lovely @jocdemo ) See more

People often tell me that I give the best hug they've ever had, and here is my formula: Ask for consent! If given the go-ahead, I inhale, and intend to bring my best, clearest self to the moment. Exhale, apply hug. I soften my body, breathe in and out, allow maximum love to flow from my heart to the other person (a rigid, tense body cannot flow or receive, FYI). Smile, which brings the flow of joy into my body. End hug whenever it feels appropriate. . When was the last time y...ou shared a really good hug? Physical touch is very powerful; it has the capacity to transform a moment and create a memory that stays with us, traceable in the bodymind. It also has the power to help us reconnect certain neural pathways that may have been "lost" due to trauma, unprocessed emotion, unfinished experiences. As a practice that contributes to optimal health, it's been said that humans would do well to aim for 5-8 hugs a day - the kind of hugs that bring your awareness back to your body, into the present moment. The kind of hugs that open your heart. What makes a hug memorable for you? See more

Hello, friends! I wanted to take a moment and let you know that, despite my absence online, I'm still here with you (as evidenced by this rapidly taken selfie to prove it)! While we are mega focusing our efforts on opening @greatfullsaskatoon's doors to the community, I am still treating clients, though in a more limited capacity - and I'm working out of our brand new beautiful space at 635 Ave H S (or of course, by distance via Skype, Facebook Messenger or FaceTime). Thank you for your patience and understanding as we grow to be better able to love, serve, and support you.
