Since we can't stream our #saturdaysalsita dance lessons from Lula Lounge this month, we'd like to invite salsa fans to enjoy two featured tracks from Canadian salsa creators, Que No Muera La Salsa by Yani Borrell "El Elegante de la Salsa" and La Fanatica by SWA, both our our Saturday Salsita playlist. We'll be back to streaming from Lula as soon as government guidelines allow but for now let's dance in our kitchens and keep the salsa love flowing.

FabCollab presents the second edition of its hit livestream festival, Women In Song! The festival is presented in partnership with the Musicians’ Performance Tr...ust Fund, producing partners Lula Lounge and Small World Music in Toronto, and with support from Canadian Heritage. Hosted by world music singer and dancer, Tamar Ilana, Women In Song: A Celebration of International Women’s Day features five of Toronto’s top world music frontwomen: Amanda Martinez (Latin/Jazz/Pop) accompanied by Allen and Karen Kaeja of Kaeja d'Dance, Jessica Hana Deutsch (Indie Pop), Maryem Tollar (Arabic/Global), Tamar Ilana (Global Flamenco) and Indigenous Fancy Shawl dancer, Cotee Harper. All of the artists will be accompanied by the world musical ensemble, Ventanas. This event will be live streamed only once and will never be rebroadcast. Goza Mi Tumbao Description: Charangon’s followup track to La Calle me Llama is a lively and catchy horn-driven tumbao featuring Miami-based Cuban vocalist Alberto Alberto. Dropping on September 25th on the Lulaworld Records label "Goza Mi Tumbao" celebrates Toronto's vibrant Latin scene.... Bringing together an all star line up of Latin Canadian artists from three cities and with roots in Mexico, Peru, Panama and Cuba, Goza mi Tumbao is co-produced by percussionist Luis Orbegoso and the group's artistic director Wilver Pedrozo. Montreal trombonist Yordan Martinez, Cuban jazz trumpeter Alexis Baro and saxophonist Alex Naar (both from Toronto) fill out the horn section. Recorded during COVID quarantine, this release is a departure from previous releases in term of group size and length of composition but delivers the same swinging energy that the band has become known for. Pedrozo says that he wanted to lift people's spirits during this difficult time when it's easy to feel isolated and far from your community.
