Today’s lesson is when things don’t go the way you hoped! Lol. This had to have been one of my top 10 difficult color corrections of life swipe to see why! . . .....not that I would have ever let on as a professional....but sometimes you have to be flexible with your hairstylist when something unusual comes up. . .... And on top of that, as a true ninja of not only just hair you have to keep your composure and use tact when explaining a change in plans with your clients. . . And every client will need the information delivered differently, so be flexible and fluid and well versed in your knowledge and in different delivery styles of that knowledge. It is you who is serving your client and not the other way around...adjust yourself and don’t expect them to adjust themselves. . . Doing major hair transformations and making hair ashy instead of warm of any tone (even dark ash like this or dark ash brown even!) are all major color corrections because the innermost base of ALL hair is WARM....if it isn’t than you are white haired or your hair has been processed to the point of melting off. . . This client had a surprise old almost black underneath from around a year ago that just wouldn’t budge first session. Second session proved to still be difficult which isn’t typical for me to see.....I still haven’t found out what brand was used but I am hoping to hear soon. . . Just remember. When things don’t go your way, don’t lose your cool and act all like it’s their fault or anything. Clients don’t know the science behind the hair. They are relying on you to know this but then also to EXPLAIN it to them in terms they can understand. So rather than using your time in the chair talking away about how #EpsteinDidntKillHimself...get to figuring out the best way with your client to explain in terms they can understand what is happening with their hair. And do it tastefully and tactfully with a smile on your face and never an accusatory tone. . .
