The summer of 2020 has been, to say the least, less entertaining, less culturally diverse, and less intellectually stimulating than what we are used to in Simco...e County and Muskoka. However, in time, all things come to pass and before we know it, we will be enjoying once again sporting events, charitable activities, and cultural events such as are the subject of this video. During the summer of 2019, we recorded several projects that were lost due to technical issues we could not surpass at that time. We managed to recover the original footage during the COVID-19 shutdown when frankly we had more time than we knew what to do with. The various Indigenous events presented in this video, recorded in the summer of 2019, are examples of some of those projects. They were originally intended to be three different reports, but as time has passed, we chose to merge them together as a longer show of appreciation to our local Indigenous culture. The first story is about two events hosted by the Barrie Native FC, including a Pow Wow held at Sunnidale Park in Barrie on June 2nd, and a cultural event held at Meridian Square on June 21st. We then moved onto the annual 'Island in the Sun Pow Wow' hosted by the Beausoleil First Nation of Christian Island, held on the weekend of July 6th and 7th.
