Often, while flexi leashes give your dog more freedom to explore, they can complicate walks and walking manners. 2 Turn around! Don't hesitate to change directions or turn around if you see another dog coming your way. 3 Don't take it personally. Your dog is not barking his head off to annoy or embarrass you. There are many reasons dogs become reactive on leash... Maybe they've been attacked and now they're on the offensive. Maybe they are frustrated they can't go say hi at-will. Maybe they are scared and feel cornered on leash. Maybe they've never been taught what to do instead of bark. He was out. of. control. I was totally frustrated and exhausted from the struggle. I wasn't sure what else to do. I was on the verge of giving up on Cashew. ...
