Canada's rates of domestic #violence against #women have dramatically increased during the #COVID19 #pandemic. On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, let’s pledge to #educate ourselves and others on #WomenRights and #abuse. Don’t ignore the subtle signs of #domesticviolence. If you find someone struggling through it, be their voice and support them through the services offered by Government of Canada. https://tinyurl.com/violencehelpca... A recent study published in Nature Communications has caused a stir by suggesting a negative impact of female mentors in academia on the long-term career of their protégés and vice-versa (rationale undissected). https://tinyurl.com/yxgxy5t5 Specifically, the study suggests that- 1. Female protégés benefit more from male, than female mentors ... 2. Mentors benefit more with male, rather than female protégés. Do you find your experiences or that of someone you know in line with the findings? Let us know in the comments below.

IWS network remembers our heroes and Sheroes, who sacrificed their lives in line of duty. Wearing a #poppy during #RemembraceDay makes reference to the red poppies that grew from the devastated war zones in France and Belgium in the spring of 1915. Inspired by this, John McCrae who was a medical officer during the 1st World War, penned the Poem called In Flanders Fields Ref: https://www.legion.ca/rememb/the-poppy/history-of-the-poppy
