What kind of life does the hearer live if he wanted to be the soil that produced thirty, sixty and even one hundredfold? The hearer held onto the Word and refu...sed to let it go. The enemy tried to take away the Word through offence and ignorance, but the hearer chose to believe the Word. Problems then arose in the hearer's life because of the Word he heard, but he understood that the Word was the answer to his problem and refused to let the Word leave his heart. Friends and family didn't understand why he was going to church and reading the Bible, talking and acting different, but the hearer didn't let it get to him. Worry would try and come and take the Word away from the hearer, questions of doubt and unbelief would enter the hearer's mind, but he didn't let those thoughts stay long. Instead, the hearer would grab his Bible and would fill his mind with the Word. Then desires for other things started to come, wanting to distract the hearer from the Word. The desire to earn more money, the desire to get to the top in life, the desire to achieve more, be more, live comfortably, these desires would try and take over his heart, but the hearer valued the Word more than what this life could offer him. The hearer held onto the Word with all his might and refused to let it go. That's when the hearer noticed the different life he was now living. Where fear once dictated his actions, the hearer had peace and answers from the Word of God concerning his situation. Where the hearer once lacked provision, he now had more than enough and plenty to give. Where the hearer once lacked purpose, the hearer now lived his days with a desire to live for God and please Him. Where the hearer once followed what everyone else was doing and saying, the hearer now had insight into the will of God and lived life according to the Word. The hearer lived a life with the fruit that only the Word of God could produce. The hearer never stopped hearing.
