Looking for experienced safety watch/lead hands for a couple of shutdowns in September. Must have experience rigging in airlines and of course confined space watch. The usual training (confined space entry and monitoring, h2s alive, standard first aid, etc.) is required. Experience with NORMS and VOC testing is an asset. This is an example of why good work planning and hazard assessments are so important. Thankfully the workers were tied off, but their PPE should have been the last resort. If this job had been planned properly and hazards assessed, they would not have been put in this position to begin with. Suspension trauma can have severe effects very quickly if the suspended workers are not rescued in a timely fashion.
