The weights from @gorilafitness have arrived finally! Absolute quality rack and plates and the bee barbell is super smooth. Can’t wait to break it in over my lunch breaks and use it with my clients. For those who are interested in working out here or are interested in a 1:1 session, feel free to reach out! There will be some updates on this space in the next few weeks for the public so stay tuned. #sportsmassagetherapy #gorilafitness #vernonbc #okanagan #downtownvernon

Impact Sport and Health Clinic in Vernon, BC is seeking a RMT to join the team in a newly renovated space. Impact was established in 2018 and is actively involved in the sporting community here in Vernon. If so desired, you will have the opportunity to work alongside me with the local Junior A, Vernon Vipers of the BCHL, as we are the team’s dedicated RMT and Sports First Responders. We are also apart of other minor league teams throughout the year which you are also welcome ...to join which is a good way to build clientele. A 15’ x 11’ personal gym has been built specifically for those who wish to utilize exercise rehab as a compliment to their massage therapy but we do welcome those who are interested in incorporating their own interests and skills into the space (such as Pilates, yoga, etc). Each treatment room is roughly 10’ x 9’ with dimmable lighting, laundry on site and security (Amazon Blink and August Locks for the clinic). Currently Impact has a 6 week waitlist. Impact is located on a very busy road on 25th Avenue with excellent street visibility and foot traffic for advertising. We are looking for a RMT who is able to work independently (charting, billing, etc). Set your own hours and come/go as you please with the ability to work as much or little as you like. It is really chill here! Rates for rent/splits can be negotiated as I feel I’m a pretty fair guy If you are in Vernon or looking to call Vernon home, let’s meet up for a coffee to chat about how we can make this space successful for the both you and me. For those who would like more information, feel free to view my website at www.impactsport.ca or email me at [email protected] Regards, Dylan Wiebe | RMT and Owner of Impact Sport and Health Clinic

If you aren’t assessing, you’re guessing. Here’s a quick snapshot of the client I saw today and a quick rundown of the tests that I performed to gather objective information to build my treatment for them. This kind of content I’ve been chewing over for awhile lately that’s maybe more of a rant today Had a good a good discussion the other day with another RMT with the apparent lack of assessment going on in our profession as there have been certain populations coming in e...xpecting 60 minutes of hands on time when booking a 60 minute appointment without any assessment. An initial appointment with me usually lasts 15-30 minutes of assessment with the rest being hands on, exercises and administrative tasks (billing, etc). Once a plan has been established, I can assess less in subsequent sessions and follow up on tests to show improvements to myself and my client. RMT’s here in BC are trained to assess and build a treatment plan for their clients and legally should never be allowed to touch a person without knowing exactly what the issue is. Those who are skipping this part of your practice, I highly encourage you to return to what you were once taught. Grab those notes, the textbooks and read. Grab another RMT and freshen up those skills. It will make you a way better therapist and allow those who see you to respect and trust you for literally every injury they endure in their lifetime. Trust me, I don’t assess this thoroughly every session with clients, especially those who I’ve seen for years but for any new client, I need to know what exactly is going on before I can successfully help them. #assessdontguess #massagetherapy #massagetherapist #rmt #chartingisnotmyfavorite See more
