Grateful to have been able to support our local students through a $40,000 donation to Northern Lights Public Schools to help with food security and improving students' mental health. The funding will be used to help launch a new initiative called "It Starts with Hope." Read more about it on their board highlights https://bit.ly/39PjhhG

Work doesn’t stop with COVID. : An Imperial employee and a group of service partners review the work scope (Job Safety Analysis and Work Permit) before starting a job. COVID might make it more difficult to hear through the muffling of the masks, yet these conversations are important to ensure everyone is aware of the hazards of the work before it gets started. #OneColdLakeTeam

There's a lot of extra cleaning going on because of COVID. We have an amazing team that helps with enhanced disinfecting, but after safety meetings - which are physically distanced - we all pitch in and wipe down our seats and location. #OneColdLakeTeam

Thank you to all our employees who continue to work from home offices despite challenges with ‘less than cooperative’ office-mates (although, it's not all bad! ). We're looking forward to having everyone back at site, but not before we have done our part to stop the spread of COVID-19.

While Imperial remains one of Canada’s largest R&D investors in any industry, we know technologies to improve our reliability and environmental performance could come from anywhere! Our asset manager, Jack Fraser, recently helped judge a showcase of innovative clean technologies applicable to the oil and gas sector, some of which could be used right here in Cold Lake!

Thank you to everyone who downloaded the Speedpass+ app and helped fund this $10,000 contribution to the Dr Margaret Savage Crisis Centre as part of our Fuel What Matters campaign. The centre supports Cold Lake and Bonnyville with important programs that provide safety, well-being and positive growth for individuals and families in need in those communities. Together we raised $140,000 for mental health organizations across Canada!

Well, I guess winter is here! Our Operations Integrity Superintendent, Scott Meyers, pitched in on Friday to help clear away some of the snow in front of our office. Thanks for keeping us safe Scott!

We’re extremely happy that all the individuals associated with our initial COVID outbreak status have recovered and returned to work. The outbreak designation remains an important reminder of how easily the virus can spread. Our team continues to be vigilant in our actions at work and in the community to do our part to keep others safe and healthy, and we encourage all members of our communities to maintain their vigilance as well.

Clean air. Less emissions. Earlier this week Imperial's Strathcona Refinery started operation of their new cogeneration unit, which will supply up to 80 percent of their electricity needs, reducing energy draw from the Alberta grid. Here at Cold Lake we've generated 180 megawatts of power through cogeneration at our Mahkeses and Nabiye sites since 2012 and 2015, respectively.

There is nothing more important to us than the safety and health of our workforce and our communities. This is Imperial’s priority as we continue to take actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Imperial’s Cold Lake operations has been designated an outbreak location by Alberta Health Services (AHS). Our thoughts are with all individuals who have tested positive, we wish them a fast recovery. We’re completing contact tracing in conjunction with AHS and have asked additional... members of our workforce to self-isolate as a precaution. The outbreak designation is an important reminder of how easily the virus can spread. Our team will continue to be vigilant in our actions at work and in the community to do our part to keep others safe and healthy, and we encourage all members of our communities to maintain their vigilance as well.
