We know a lot of pet parents are hesitant to bring their pets in when we are not having owners in the building we wanted to let you know what we have started doing! In the last month, we have started using tablets! One is set up in each exam room and we also have some that we will bring out to your vehicle so you can ‘be in the room’ with your pet! You can ask questions and be a part of the whole appointment! Pet parents often hold the key to diagnosis! You know your pets b...etter than anyone and being able to have your input is vital to providing the best pet care we can! If you are looking to book an appointment, please give us a call! Here is the results video for the winners! Cujo (St. Bernard) weighed 151.8lbs and Puppy (Chihuahua) weighed 1.25lbs! That is a weight difference of more than 150lbs! :o *please note: in the video I accidentally said 1.5lbs, but the name of the winner is based on the correct weight! Thank you to everyone who played along!

Sophia is now home with her new family! Thank you to everyone who shared! Sophia was brought in almost 2 months ago and she is looking for a family to love! She was brought in with 3 other cats who have been adopted. She is about 8 years old, is up to date on her vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, etc. She has been spayed. She gets along great with other cats!... She is a super snuggler! She loves to be petted, curl up in your lap, or just be near you! She would do better with a bit of a quieter house (she can be a teeny bit shy about loud noises sometimes). If you would like to meet her, please let us know! She is truly LOVELY! Adoption Applications can be found on our website https://imperialroad.ca/adoption-form/

December is here and we regret that Santa Paws will not be visiting for pet photos with Santa this year. We know that many of you cherish this tradition as much as we do. We will be accepting canned food donations for the Corner Cupboard foodbank through the coming weeks and would be happy to offer a 2021 calendar in exchange. For those of you who visit at this time of year for special treats and toys to put under the tree for your pet, we would like to offer our online store myvetstore.ca/ImperialRoad as a safe, contact free alternative. Deliveries to your home are complimentary for purchases over $100, or Curbside Pick-up at the clinic is free.

Do you know where I belong? This cat was found in the Vienna line area and we are trying to help find his family! The finder does not have Facebook, so please help us share this! The finder had this to say: I believe it's a male with all parts intact. He seems extremely social not aggressive towards any of our other pets. He's very affectionate and talks alot!! Someone must be missing him because he's been well cared for and litter trained.... If you recognize this critter, please call Laura at (519) 808-6817

Margaret has found her furever home! Thank you all so much to those who shared and applied! Stay tuned, we will be posting some more critters in the next couple weeks! This is Margaret. Margaret is about 8 weeks old and loves to play! She was found starving, a month ago, and has made a miraculous recovery! With some much needed food, love, heating pads, and snuggles, she is thriving! She is now more than double the weight she was when she was found! She is healthy a...nd happy! She LOVES pets and snuggles (she goes up on her tip toes to get as many scritches as possible)! She is unsure about dogs (she hisses sometimes), but has had lots of exposure to people and cats! Her favourite toy so far is a crumpled up sticky note, but she also loves her tunnel, her tower, and anything that rolls! Margaret has been dewormed and given flea prevention. She has also received her first set of vaccines. Her adoption fee is $150 and that includes some of the food she has been eating, toys, her vaccine booklet, her first year of vaccines, and her spay (at 6 months of age) If you would like to make Margaret a part of your family, please fill out the adoption application on our website! https://imperialroad.ca/adoption-form/

Weve had some questions about wheezing cats! Heres some general information for you. Any pet with breathing difficulty should be examined by a veterinarian, and one with a severe wheeze with difficulty exercising, breathing, sleeping, etc. is one that needs to be seen as soon as possible. Even mildly wheezing pets should have an exam as some of the causes can rapidly progress from mild to severe clinical signs. Ive posted a page below with some descriptions of breathing sounds and video clips so you can hear what they sound like! https://catclinicofissaquah.com/symptoms/

Hey folks! We plan on posting some nail trimming videos in the next little bit but I had the opportunity to show what to do with a bleeding nail when I went to the chicken coop this afternoon and saw my rooster had broken the tip off his nail! Its pretty similar for dogs and cats, I mention some differences in the video. If a pet has a broken/torn nail, give us a call and/or email some photos. In some cases you can treat at home as I did here. In others wed need to see your pet to remove a partially torn off nail under sedation. Hope youre all doing well and managing to have a nice weekend! And Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!

A staff member will bring your pet into the building and the veterinarian will examine your pet. At this time you may remain in your vehicle e. The veterinarian will then call you on your cell phone to discuss the findings. Food and prescription orders may be called in; when you arrive to pick up any order please call us from the parking lot and we will bring your order to your vehicle. Please note, there may be a shortage of available food and medications due to high demand. The situation with COVID-19 is changing every day so please check in with us to be sure you are up to date. Even with the elimination of face to face contact during this time, this will not disrupt our services to you and your pet. Whats most important is to keep you, us and our pets safe.

Imperial Road Animal Hospital 15.11.2019

We would like to assure all clients of Imperial Road Animal Hospital and Shedden Veterinary Services that we are committed to being available to help you care for your furry family members. Your health is as much of a concern to us as is your pets health. We are implementing the following precautions in the best interest of our clients and the community. We have increased the disinfection frequency of client and staff areas of such commonly touched things like doorknobs,... counters, and debit/credit machines. We have a hand sanitizer dispenser at our front counter for use on entry and/or exit to the building. We also continue to offer access to hand washing facilities. We ask that if you are not feeling well, please help us keep everyone safe and stay home. You can call us for advice as to whether your pets illness is an emergency, as well as to have medication refills delivered or mailed to your home. If you have one of our mobile veterinarians out to your barn, please make them aware that you are unwell so that they may bring assistants to handle your horses. If you are in a high-risk demographic (elderly, immune compromised or have pre-existing respiratory illness), please consider avoiding non-essential outings. We are happy to reschedule wellness visits and elective surgeries (for animals large and small) for later dates. Please call to discuss ways that we can get your pet the medications and food that they need in a way that minimizes risk to your health. If you are in a high-risk demographic and your pet is sick and needs care, please let us know when scheduling and we can make accommodations to reduce your exposure. This may include having you remain in your car while your pet is examined in the clinic or having an assistant join our large animal veterinarians on the farm. We will keep office hours as long as we are healthy and are not jeopardizing our staff and clients health and safety. We will continue to follow the recommendations of local public health officials. We will communicate any closures as quickly as possible. In the event that we are forced to close, we will communicate our availability for remote advice either via email or FB messages. In the meantime, please plan ahead if you are running low on medications or prescription foods. Evidence at this time suggests that COVID-19 cannot cause disease in pets. We wish all of our patients and clients the best of health. With gratitude, Your pets health care team at Imperial Road Animal Hospital and Shedden Veterinary Services. See more

Going a little nuts, for baby squirrels! These red squirrels were dropped off on our front step and we didnt know it....thankfully our clients let us know and our Office Manager has been able to help them grow and develop. Please ask us first before dropping off any animals on our front step. We have a few reasons for this request:... One: If we dont know they are out there we can not help them and sometimes timing is everything for saving a life. Two: We can not help everything, but we may be able to direct you to someone who can help.
