Check out these two new thoughtful reviews of "To the Men Who Write Goodbye Letters" by #GiannaPatriarca, with thanks to Cristina Pietropaolo and Angelo Sgabellone! Click "reviews" tab at the link! #FemLitCan #CanLit #FeministPoetry #Poetry #books 'I read this volume in one sitting over the holidays, and then I read it again. I’ve read it again since, and every time I do, the poems in this book quietly thrill me, and they also give me solace; they are an embrace I didn’t kno...w I needed. Although these poems were written before the pandemic began, they are the perfect companion in these extraordinary circumstances. Read To the Men Who Write Goodbye Letters, and then read it again, too.' 'Gianna Patriarca’s eulogistic poetry acts as personal observations of time and space. Her subjectivity rests as a sacred alter of endearment, then towers for those courageous creatures she once loved. As Joseph Sciorra of New York’s Calandra Institute reminds, Patriarca’s work is: A Testament of the intimate burden of memory. As an ethno/moral voice she confronts diverse issues of powerlessness and marginalized Italo/Canadian sensbilities as an endearing legacy of ethereal second comings through poetic triumphs.' https://www.inanna.ca//to-the-men-who-write-goodbye-lette/

Lisa de Nikolits reads from her new dystopian novel, The Rage Room. Wow, what a ride! Lisa de Nikolits has written a pulse-pounding thriller set in a troubled future that might just be ours. We see the seeds of The Rage Room in our own digital landscape. Mind-bending yet all too believable in the hands of a masterful storyteller. Ursula Pflug reads from her new short story collection, Seeds and Other Stories. Ursula Pflug’s stories are the kind you want to carry around with you for those days when it feels like you’re living in a strange and incomprehensible world; her stories will make you feel less alone. They are wondrous and unique little creatures that desire nothing more than to play fetch with your weirdest dreams. They are wild inventions built of words and sentences that dig into your psyche and send back reports about all you never knew of the world. They are sly and joyous, scary and entrancing, profound, unsettling, amusing, and utterlyperfectly!unique. Matthew Cheney, Hudson Prize winning author of Blood: Stories

Fantastic new review of "Filthy Sugar" by Heather Babcock, Author, with thanks to Bonnie DeMoss and Historical Novel Society! Full review at the link! #FemLitCan #CanLit #FeministFiction #HistoricalFiction #WorkingClassHistory #Burlesque #books 'This is an extremely sensual work of art with very mature themes exquisitely written by Heather Babcock. The characters are real and raw. Wanda’s loves and losses are palpable and so clearly mirrored in the choices she makes. Babcock’s writing skill is evident, and the way she uses ordinary objects, such as a billboard or a bottle of milk, to express extreme emotions or the desperation of the time is very effective.' https://historicalnovelsociety.org/reviews/filthy-sugar/
