Many people don’t realize how impactful it was when Wayne Gretzky advocated for Joey Moss to get paid a real wage for real work. That small action by an Edmo...nton hockey hero was one of the biggest things that happened for disability inclusion in our city. People started to see the disabled as capable and employable. Joey showed us what it looked like when someone with a disability was included and was respected for his abilities. Wayne treated Joey as a human being and not as a charity case. He recognized his real value and skills and advocated for him to find real employment. Joey’s legacy and advocacy helped to elevate an awareness of disability employment, inclusion and paid work for others with disabilities Edit*** Coincidentally, October is Disability Employment Awareness Month In Alberta. #DEAM #RIP
