Curtains are the new walls. Creating rooms for privacy, concentration or collaborating without disturbing others can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. These are examples of how to use curtains to create "micro-spaces" in a large open area with curtains. They are cost-effective, movable, and add texture, colour, warmth and acoustic properties. Hang from a framed system like the one shown here from BuzziSpace or a simple flexible rod.

We had such a great experience working with @voices for their #londonontario office. It was important to create defined spaces throughout the open office plan. Here, pink hexagon carpet tiles from @shawcontract anchors breakout space purposefully planned outside a meeting room to capture those inspired conversations that happen before and after scheduled meetings.
