We are hiring part-time seasonal sales staff! Apply here: https://smrtr.io/4jfrn What can you expect from working here? This is Tiffany's story:... "I teach full time at a local college, but it had always been a dream of mine to work for Indigo/Chapters. I have been a very regular customer my entire life because of their top-notch customer service and fantastic employees. About a year ago my dream finally came true and I accepted a position at Indigo East Point. Much to my delight it has been every bit as fun and rewarding as I expected it to be. My fellow CERs love to talk about books just as much as I do, are always willing to lend a hand, and they have become not only great coworkers but also great friends. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to work for Indigo and would recommend it to anyone who loves to share their passion for books! "

Whats this?? A new Irving book?? Are entrepreneurs born or are they made? "Thanks for the Business" seeks to address this age-old question through the compelling stories of Maritime business tycoons Arthur Irving and K. C. Irving, and the story of Irving Oil. As one keen observer wrote of the Irvings: "You can love them or hate them, but you have to respect them." ... "Thanks for the Business" traces the Irving family back to its roots in Scotland, covers the establishment and early years of the company, and looks at how Irving Oil is confronting current challenges. This comprehensive biography holds important lessons for aspiring entrepreneurs, for business schools, for public policy, and particularly for Atlantic Canada. As K. C. Irving said, "business is never given, it has to be earned, one customer at a time." Available now! Pick up your copy today!

If youre looking to get into a good classic during our Read-a-thon May 3rd to 9th here is a recommendation for you from our CER Mia! She recommends "Mansfield Park" by Jane Austen. This cover includes a person and the colour blue, checking off two challenges on the list!

Indigo (East Point) 06.11.2019

Here is another recommendation from our CER Tiffany! For younger readers looking to join the Read-a-thon and check off a book with 5 or more words in the title, she recommends "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making" by Catherynne M. Valente.

Indigo (East Point) 02.11.2019

Our next recommendation for the Read-a-thon comes from Chelsey, one of our Kids department CERs. Any of the books in the Harry Potter series would cross at least one or more off your challenge list. However, if you end up reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban you could check off most if not all the challenges! This book has more than 5 words in the title, has blue on the cover as well as a person, one of the main characters is non-human, is set in a magical castle you might want to travel to, has a movie adaptation AND if youve been meaning to read it for a while it that would cross off every challenge on the list! As if you need an excuse to read or re-read Harry Potter, but here it is!
