Indo Canadian Workers Association strongly condemned the arrests of renowned civil rights and trade union activists like Varavara Rao, Gautam Navlakha, Sudha Bhardwaj, V. Gonslaves and Arun Ferreira, under false and fabricated charges framed by the Maharashtra police, as well as raiding and searching of the houses of well known academician Anand Teltumbde and some other intellectuals by it. These unjustified arrests are, in fact, aimed at silencing those voices which dare to ...highlight the anti-people and anti-national policies of the BJP government led by Narinder Modi. Govt. has no respect even for the Constitutional rights of the people and is quite intolerable to any form of dissent. Who so ever opposes the pro-corporate or communal policies of this govt., he or she is immediately branded as anti-national. All these arrests are made under the garb of curbing ‘urban Maoists’ is nothing but the projection of fascist fangs of the R.S.S. Indo Canadian Workers Association opposes this new totalitarian attack on the civil liberties and democratic rights of the people and demand immediate release of all civil rights and trade union activists. Issued by: Surjit Sahota Secretary Indo Canadian Workers Association

Indo-Canadian Workers Association-Brampton unanimously adopted a resolution to condemn US missile attack of April 6th on Syria. We all know the imperialist desi...gns under US leadership and their lies on Iraq and Libya which has brought catastrophes to these nations where more than a million peoples died in the past, but their thirst for blood is still remains unquenched. ICWA believes that alleged Sarin nerve Gas attack by Syrian forces should have been investigated first under UN but Trump's USA administration ignored United Nations and decided to sabotage the sovereignty of a third world nation to show the world its flexed muscles. We understand that US military industrial complex can not survive without WAR and hence they need such wars. The world knows who created Al Qaida and ISIS, the root cause is US imperialism which is bent upon to destroy the peace and tranquillity of the world. ICWA also expressed its deep concern that ruling Liberal Govt. under Justin Trudeau came out in support of US aggression in Syria and actively supporting its policies in Europe where Canadian forces are playing its dangerous role in NATO, moreover Opposition party like NDP shamelessly endorsed the US move along with notorious war monger Conservatives. ICWA calls upon the people of working class to oppose US military actions outside its territories as an infringement of sovereign nations. Canadian Govt. should spend more budgets on Health, Transit and Education instead wasting tax payer’s money on Military budget. ICWA resolve to educate peoples that their own well being is more important than invading Iraq, Libya or now in Syria. ICWA, in its meeting reviewed the outcome of its Annual function of martyrdom day celebrations of Indian freedom struggle which took place on March 26th and thanked all related individuals who worked hard to make it a success. Meeting was attended by ICWA President, Surinder Sandhu, Secretary Surjit Sahota, Dev Dhindsa, Prof. Jagir Kahlo, Com Jaspal Randhawa, Surinder Madahar, Jasvinder Singh, Harinder Hundal,Nirmal Sidhu, Sanjeev Dhawan and Shamshad Elahee Shams.
