Well, it appears that it is World Whale Shark Day. I was lucky enough to have several encounters at the beginning of the year in the Philippines. Snorklers on t...he surface follow a whale shark, Rhiniodon typus, cruising over a shallow reef area. This is the worlds largest species of fish and this particular individual appears to have sustained some damage to its gills. I shot this free diving during a two week trip on the Live Aboard vessel Infiniti with a Canon 5D mark IV set on Shutter Priority with Exp.
