All our clinics are open for your continued eyecare and eyewear. Our locked door policy and protective measures remain in place to help keep you safe during your visit. The In Focus Eyecare team is excited to welcome Dr. Kristen Johnson as our newest associate doctor. Dr. Johnson grew up in Sarnia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario where she received an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2013. She then obtained her Doctorate in Optometry in 2018 at the Michigan College of Optometry (MCO) in Big Rapids, Michigan where she graduated with highest distinction. Her clinical externships in her fou...rth and final year of optometry school were at a private optometry practice, the Aleda E Lutz Veterans Affairs hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, and at Henry Ford Optimeyes in Troy, Michigan. While at MCO she served as President of Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH) which organizes medical eye care mission trips to underserved countries. In her third year of school, she was able to participate in a mission trip to the small Caribbean island of Dominica, where eye exams and glasses were provided to thousands of residents of the island. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists, as well as the College of Optometrists of Ontario. She is also a member of the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is certified by the Optometry Examining Board of Canada and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Johnson always knew that she wanted to come back home to Sarnia, and she is excited to be able to provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages in both Sarnia and Grand Bend locations. In her spare time, Dr. Johnson likes to read, cook and travel with her husband.

Perfect way to end a day

We have been busy making changes at the offices, new procedures, new barriers and less chairs. Hopefully we can open soon.

As the days become nicer and we start being able to enjoy more of the outdoors, remember to continue social distancing. A careful transition back to our normal lives will ensure our community will be able to recover from this pandemic and not deal with a Covid-19 resurgence. Bumped Again! - This week the provincial government announced that opening would be pushed back to May 19 at the earliest. Ahh, we miss all of you!! In the meantime, we are continuing to prepare our offices for Re-Start.
