Along will all Public Health protocols, as well as guidelines from our governing bodies; Older Adults Centres Association of Ontario and the Ontario Community Support Association of Ontario, we will be doing the following: ... -Hand Sanitizing when entering & exiting the building. -Masks to be worn until you are in your place in your program. If your program cannot socially distance, then your mask remains in place. -Programs will have reduced numbers based on room size and social distancing and additional requirements as necessary to keep you safe. Please call us for details. 519-485-3869 ** Please note - as we prepare for our soft opening on Sept. 8 and so our instructors can enjoy a summer vacation there will be no fitness classes the week of August 30th to September 5th

A very interesting read about Inter-generational family living. It may not be for everyone, but I have said for years, that we may come back around to this. As the article mentions, it has been a tradition for years in many cultures and now due to financial challenges for adult children and their parents , we may see a rise in this trend. I am also waiting to see if the concept of living like the Golden Girls will become popular . With the right mix of friends, that could be fun!! https://www.chatelaine.com/li/moving-in-with-grandparents/
As many may have heard by now, through our Ingersoll community, we lost a true legend. Michael was not only an active member of our Centre for years but you could say he helped to build the foundation of who we are today. Michael was our council rep on the Ingersoll Services for Seniors Board and then as Mayor, he always advocated for the betterment of Older Adults in Ingersoll. Always ready with a joke and his British sense of humour, Michael took a genuine interest in every...one he would meet at the Centre. Along with his sidekicks from the Carving Club, he would help set up at events, spend time in the wood shop but mostly they would hold court in the comfy corner with their coffee-always sharing more stories than actual carving!! Michael doted on Daphne-the love of his life and always proudly shared stories of his family. We will all miss his smile and twinkle in his eye . See more
