"WHAT is this HUGE news" you probably asked yourself following yesterdays instagram post (probably not) but MAYBE. Today, after waiting a long looong 4 years of many desasterous arena days before the roof was fixed last fall (pole shore away from the ice) (pails catching the downpour drips) (massive puddles) and years of hard packed ground arena dirt days. BUT TODAY! TOODAAY WAS ARENA RESURFACING DAY AND WE COULDN'T BE MORE THANKFUL . We are so appreciative to be here at... this beautiful property and so happy. We have worked so so hard to rebuild this place and get everything looking good again after a rough patch before us. People who have been with us since the very beginning know how much work we have put into this place and to get this done was an absolutely massive thing off our check list and we can't thank Stephanie Hubbert (Krista's Sister) enough for doing this for us. Thank you thank you thank you. Thank you to those of you who did wait out this happening. Thank you so much for putting up with some rough times, and I hope you all enjoy this as much as we will. Some more big news coming Sunday. #mostbeautifularena #fullyrestored #sothankful #laserflat #SOflatandfluffy

Rest In Peace to our sweet Ellie Today we chose to lay our beloved Ellie to the most well deserved rest after a very very long life well lived. An exceptional friend, teacher, and phenomenal all around horse. Ellie knew exactly what her job was with us and was one of the best lesson horses we could have possibly asked for. The road Ellie embarked on before entering our hands is unknown.. at one point in her life she lived in Louisiana, but besides that her adventure to ...land in a rescue and then make her way to us in Rockwood, Ontario is very very unclear. We know no matter what crazy life Ellie had before us that we gave her the best three years with us we possibly could have given her. While the sun was shining yesterday Ellie was given the opportunity to roam around the farm grazing free and then spent the afternoon with her best friend Myru. This morning she was peacefully laid to rest with the best vets and Krista by her side. There are many theories when putting an animal down, and we hope you can all understand ours. We had absolutely no idea how old Ellie actually was when we got her, but we are assuming today she had made her way into her twentys. Ellie had a medical condition called Cushing's that we were able to combat from people noticing by proving her with the right feed and good maintenance over the last three years. We had a golfball sized tumour removed from behind her eye this past July, and since then she has slowly started to act more her age. We could start to see it in her eyes how hard she has worked over the years, and we owed it to her for her to not have a last accident, or have a last awful cold day before a rushed decision had to be made about this. That is not who we are and we hope you can all understand our choice to have her put to rest after a happy day. We don't want to hear sadness following this post in the comments, instead we would love a few words of how Ellie impacted you, or someone in your family personally. Ellie was ridden by hundreds of different people over her three years here with us and we are sure she impacted them all. She truly was the best at giving confidence and providing patience to so many riders. Thank you Courtney and Rebecca from the horse rescue for allowing us to adopt Ellie originally. We thank you so much for the horse you trusted with us and we hope you feel we provided her with the best life we possibly could. Thanks a million Ellie, we hope you're feeling the greatest sense of peace now. #restinpeace #SIMPEllie
