What a season we had! As a community, we managed to overcome the current challenges of 2020 and to have a record-breaking year! Together, we planted, grew, and harvested 4,365 lbs/1,980 kgs, more than 77% of which was distributed to local service agencies. The season is officially over, looking forward to the next one. Over. There’s a fairly small window in which you can eat your fresh spinach. After the 8th day of it being picked, spinach loses half of its major nutrients when it’s refrigerated.

The season is almost over, so here is what you should expect this week:... Autumnal Equinox, September 22 - The Tuesday Evening Work Party: 5PM to 7PM - ICG Honey - LAST CALL! Saturday, September 26 - No scheduled Work Party (again) - Harvest and clean your bed and remember to take your compostables and refuse home. Last, but not least, maybe it won't snow in September this year, but before we find out, surely you would be more comfortable, cozy at home with your favourite form of digital diversion than ("maybe") gardening in mukluks?! Happy Monday (Labour Day), Saturday was a quite a day. Thank you volunteers for turning out on such a great morning to help us get the hops in now it's up to Village Brewery to make the most of them! Garden closes on October 12th, so here are some key dates until then:... - Tuesday, September 8 is the final "6 PM" Tuesday Evening Work Party of the season. Tuesday work parties will be moving to 5 pm. - Saturday, September 12 is the final ""scheduled" Saturday Work Party of the season. Last, but not least, due to multiple considerations the board is currently taking the position that hosting a Harvest Festival this year is unlikely. Stay warm today! ICG Team
