Update about COVID-19 as of March 17: Our office is closed for the near future, based on the recommendations of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC and the province. If you are having a dental emergency (acute pain, suspected infection, or dental trauma) please call our office at 250-727-3552. ... In the past few weeks, we have increased our infection prevention and control efforts beyond current recommendations. We are dedicated to providing a safe clinical environment for our patients as well as our team members. Some of our team members attended the Pacific Dental Conference, which has had several COVID-19 cases stemming from a common exposure there. We are following the lead of our province’s authorities on health, and those staff members are undergoing a 2-week self-isolation. None of our staff members have exhibited any symptoms in the days since they have been there but will remain in self-isolation for the recommended time. We are closely following the recommendations of both the province and the college of dental surgeons. We appreciate your understanding during this time. We wanted to update our patients on how our clinic is handling the Covid-19 pandemic. We are closely following the recommendations of Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, and Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.'s provincial health officer. March 13, 2020: In directing event organizers to cancel all gatherings larger than 250, our objective is to enable everyone to maintain important social distancing measures, which is much more challenging in larger events. It also means you can still do y...our shopping, go to restaurants, attend family events and continue to enjoy many other activities. Our office remains open to treat our patients. We are closely following recommendations by the provincial health authorities. We have increased our vigilance in regards to infection control and prevention. We are increasing our cleaning of surfaces, such as doorknobs, counters and card readers. We are connecting with patients who are not feeling well and asking that they stay home until they are feeling better. We are excusing our short notice cancellation fees for patients who don’t feel up to their dental visit. We echo the province’s recommendations to increase the frequency of hand hygiene procedures, avoiding touching your face, and social distancing when possible.
