Call Before You Burn - Controlled Burns Reminder The Township requires all controlled burns to be called into the Township Office and approved by speaking wit...h a staff member. This helps ensure that fires are being performed in a safe way, dispatch is properly notified, and emergency services are not unnecessarily sent to your property. It also ensures that resources are available for others in the event of a real emergency. Failure to call in a controlled burn could mean that you'll be faced with the cost of sending firefighters out to your property. The Township does not require you to call before having a campfire in a proper firepit. For more information on controlled burns and proper firepit requirements visit our website: http://ezt.ca/Municipal-S/Home-Fire-Safety/Open-Air-Burning

EYES ON INNERKIP - this is happening at many homes, literally. Many of our newer homes have doorbell cameras installed. There was lots of excitement in Hunt Hoo...d on Saturday night when unwanted visitors started arriving about 2:30 am and made their way around the streets, helping themselves to various items which caught their eyes. Then we think they made their way over to the Park and left a mess right where they were meeting. No cure for stoopid, is there?Thank you, Steve K., for cleaning up after these juveniles. We are strongly suggesting that residents call the OPP and report these incidents. The police can't do anything if they don't know what is going on. Dial *OPP on your cell phone. Let's catch these little creeps and teach 'em a lesson. In closing, let's all get together and watch out for one another. We have some wonderful new residents in our community. They have chosen to live here because they want that small town atmosphere that they remember from growing up in a small town. Someone told me that just yesterday! Push your Kindness Button as much as possible, folks! Only good things will come of it, I promise! P.S. I am posting 'Eyes On Innerkip' on Innerkip Community, Kip Kids and Hunt Hood from now on. xxoo...mmtinksadie See more

Check your vehicles and your cameras - two punks were on the prowl last night stealing whatever they could!

EYES ON INNERKIP (Ayr News - January 3/21) We have a few concerns, folks! First - the large retention pond off of the new Burton St. extension, bordering the Park. There are gates with chains and locks which usually mean 'No Trespassing' or 'Not for public use'. Unfortunately, these clues are being ignored and people (of all ages) are using the paved pathway (isn't it nice?) and also sliding and playing hockey on the frozen pond (someone even contributed a hockey net). Becaus...e the temperatures have been so variable over the past month or so, there is no guarantee that the pond is actually frozen. There is a safety factor involved that really should not be because it is private property and no one should be using it for anything! PERIOD! Second - There are Township garbage barrels in the Park, some of which get boarded up for the Winter. Some of our dogwalker citizens have decided to tear the boards off the barrels so they can dispose of their dog poop; others insist on throwing their poop bags on the ground beside the barrels saying, "I'll fix you!" (I can just hear them!). My suggestion? It's really simple! Take your dog poop bag home in your pocket like the rest of us do! Any questions??? Now I know not everyone in 'Kip takes the Ayr News, so could you please do the neighbourly thing and share the suggestion with your neighbours in town who walk dogs in the Park, please? I will also post this suggestion on the FB sites ('Innerkip Community' and 'Kip Kids') just to make sure our bases are all covered. We have lots of dogs in the village which is great...they just need to train their walkers on the 'etiquette', don't they? Please remember that these comments are made with a smile and an ounce or two of love and kindness.

Effective Monday, November 23 at 12:01 am, the Southwestern Public Health region will move from the Yellow-Protect tier into the Orange-Restrict tier of the... Provincial Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework. This decision was made to further protect our community before the COVID-19 situation becomes unmanageable. At this stage, it is critical that each individual improves their efforts to help our whole community stay safe. It is up to each of us to get us back to Green.
