Day 16 - Shine On Live. Out. Proud. If you've hung around our page at all you've seen us saying that a LOT. There's a reason. It's because we see you and we can see you are so fabulous it hurts. But we also know you can't really see that, because you're too close to the mirror or someone is shining a light in your eyes or something. So we're here today to tell you to just keep living proud. Because you're amazing and we love you.... Day 15 - All The Colors Of The Rainbow In recent years an explosion of personal freedom has allowed folks to begin to identify as something other than just gay, lesbian or a binary trans person. And as that explosion has occurred we've been right there with it. We've done some learning about new terminology, some relearning how to ask for information, and some watching of old constructs being redefined or entirely torn apart. But most of all we've been there with our cameras,... ready and waiting to capture this explosion of newfound freedom in all it's facets and to admire at the stauch leaders emerging from the broader rainbow to stake their claim to an identity that truly fits them. Day 14 - A Community Effort Pride is a huge spectacle And none of it would be possible without the thousands of volunteers like the person pictured here who donate their time every year to make it happen. We spotted this person at the start of our local celebration's festival and were immediately captured by that happy smile and bouncy attitude as they walked down the road collecting donations. Four hours and nearly 30 trips up and down the half mile festival site later we c...aptured this image of that same smile, that same bucket and that same love of community that entranced us in the first place. To all the volunteers who make these festivals happen, who keep their smiles after hours of walking in the hot sun, and who come back year after year...we salute you, we love you and we thank you for showing us all what Pride truly is. Day 13 - Utter Fascination We here at Inner reflections can remember a time back in the early 2000's when a furry convention happened to be being held at the same hotel as a wedding. The bride was NOT amused and kept yelling at the desk manager about having rented to "freaks." Day 12 - Listen To Your Heart Everyone in the gay world has heard the story of the Wachowski sisters. This dynamic directing duo famously transitioned one after the other and proved to everyone that not only will the heart will lead the way to happiness if only you let it speak but also how very important support can be. No matter the cost, no matter the potential turmoil, following your heart is always the best way to a radiant smile like the one on the face of Lana Wachowsk...i in this shot.
