March 20, 2020 - Timmins, Ontario Earlier this year, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) sought input from tax service providers with regards to allowing the use of digital signatures with form T-183, which authorizes preparers to e-file returns. The CRA was not going to make the changes until later this year, but as part of the COVID-19 measures, digital signatures are allowed starting March 18, 2020 as a temporary measure, until such time as permanent changes can be made. In a...n effort to better serve and protect our customers and reduce the potential for the spread of this virus, we are proud to announce that we have implemented our digital signature protocols, which are in compliance with CRA requirements. Additionally, we have implemented a two-step identification verification process, so that new customers can have their income tax returns processed without leaving their home in this time of grave uncertainty. March 18, 2020 - Timmins, Ontario Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has deferred the filing deadline for individuals until June 1, 2020. However, the CRA recommends that those taxpayers with an entitlement to the Goods and Services Tax Credit (GSTC) and/or the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) do not delay filing, in order to ensure that their entitlements are calculated before the July payment. The filing due date for trusts with a taxation year ending ...December 31, 2019 has been deferred until May 1, 2020. The payment due date for all taxpayers has been deferred to August 31, 2020, for all taxpayers with taxes due on or after today, or prior to September 1, 2020. This applies to tax balances due, installments. No interest of penalties will accumulate on the above amounts during this period.

While we have always served our customers beyond the traditional brick-and-mortar means, we are implementing further measures in order to provide our services while reducing physical contact with our clients, in order to reduce the spread of this virus. These measures include a two-step identity verification process for new clients and a document confirmation process.
