Besides a lot of inspections today, I was lucky enough to catch these wee critters wreaking havoc on the domestic bunny population just south of downtown Calgary. This is right outside our Calgary shop location. I was heading out for a test drive and saw two badgers and decided to watch for a while. Our receptionist saw them later in the day running down the train tracks but they had met up with a friend and there were three!

Tech tip..lots of things can effect fuel efficiency but one of the simple things is spark plugs. They are pretty sensitive. If you look at the picture, a small crack in the porcelain can cause a major misfire. Oil leaks or water splashed up on plugs can cause a crack. Being too rough when installing them can cause a crack. If they come out of a box that has been dropped there can be a crack as well. Take a look at the second picture for an interesting fact. Some manufacturers will put a paint mark on top of the plug to indicate they are the factory plug. So if your looking to change your plugs or wondering if your plugs have been replaced just look for the paint mark. Spark plugs in the newer vehicles are typically good for around 80,000km.

I love finding things like this. I find it interesting that someone could drive a vehicle after doing work on it with so much noise and not think..hey what is causing that noise?.... but THEN take it to an inspection facility for a pre purchase inspection and think and act like nothing is wrong. Scary!! I love finding it to see the reaction of the owner and also being able to show the potential buyer.

Check out some of these oldies! Most of these vehicles were pre purchase inspections but a few were out of province and a couple were some personal mechanical inspections. Guy came in with a fuel smell. We noticed right away raw fuel leaking from under the truck. Lifted it up and found someone stealing gas by drilling a hole in the tank. Karma isn't worth a half a tank of free gas. Hope it catches up with the thief.
