interesting article on musicians & sexual attraction. Good reference when I was "creating" Luc Malarme for While the Music Lasts. (excuse the ad on the Atlantic page) jfb http://www.theatlantic.com//the-romantic-power-of-/371806/

Inspector Aliette Nouvelle 08.12.2020

Groundhog Day, 2016. An author peeks out from his hiding place... So January has finally departed, but not without leaving behind so many empty, formerly bright and much loved musical spaces. Strange. Like a culling. I hope not a harbinger But today is sunny, and in honour of that I humbly offer While the Music Lasts, the 7th Inspector Aliette Nouvelle mystery. Ironically, this one centers around a musician who will not be forgiven even though he is socially dead. Moral outr...age comes to Saint-Brin A disgraced rock star. An unforgiving town. How can Aliette protect a man who refuses to stop singing? Much more at my website http://aliettenouvelle.com/ ...and at http://www.signature-editions.com/ Remember: Buying a book is a beautiful gesture. Demanding that your local librarian buy one is heroic. Because most of us (me) do not have huge advertising machines behind us. We only have our stories and we live to get them out there. Thanks. Love. jfb

A clue to the cover of Tropeano’s Gun... Aliette is ordered to attend therapy to help her come to terms with the fact and necessity of her sidearm. Gabrielle Gravel, the therapist assigned to ‘treat’ her, practices a sand-play technique Many people associate a sandbox with children’s play. However, there is a special type of expressive therapy in which a tray of sand is used to create and explore imaginary worlds. This modality, called sand tray therapy, can be appropriate f...or people of any age. Many adult clients enjoy sand tray therapy as a way to bypass the logical and intellectual parts of themselves in order to access a deeper, creative aspect. Sand tray therapy has been in use since the 1940s. It emerged in the form of Jungian sandplay, a type of psychoanalytic expressive therapy in which clients were asked to create a world in the sand. In current times, sand tray therapy has evolved to be used by therapists from a variety of backgrounds, including humanistic or transpersonal. https://www.google.ca/search
