Appreciated having some downtime over the break and was fortunate to discover the Rich Roll podcasts. This was perhaps one of the more inspiring things I listened to. This whole episode was great, but here's something that really resonated with me. Its been a tough year, I trust this helps us all navigate through the next. "I will never quit. I won't die in the chair, I'll die out on the race course when my time comes, battling for every step ." - Chadd Wright, Ultra Marathoner amd former Navy Seal

Merry Christmas to my Inspire Family! This has certainly been the most challenging time of our generation, and navigating each day has been difficult for all of us in many different ways, myself included. But as often is the case, days where I felt I was struggling I was buoyed by the strength , determination and resilience of so many of you as you pushed through each day. Thank you for Inspiring me. You give so much back to me and I appreciate it very much. ... Throughout the past year I have been reminded daily of my dad, who through the last years of his life would never complain, but would instead repeat these words, no matter how difficult or uncomfortable his situation - "I have a lot to be thankful for." I hope that all of you have a safe and happy Christmas and Holiday season, and that as you spend time with loved ones, or on your own, that you are still able to find many reasons to be thankful. Merry Christmas, and here's to a Safe, Happy, and Peaceful New Year in 2021. Jonathan

More great rehab from Dr Cheng. This is not a routine just for 90 year olds. I bet most of you will find this a challenge, especially if you sit or perform repetitive movements all day for a living. Variability of movement is key to maintaining mobility and range of motion throughout your life.

"... She suspects that adopting the positive wintertime mindset could make a second lockdown a little less daunting for those who worry about keeping their mood buoyed in the bad weather. We might recognise, for instance, that it’s a time for baking comfort food or cosy evenings curled up under a blanket in front of a box set practising a little bit of the Norwegian koselig (snuggling under blankets with a warm drink)... So good to see many of you over the past couple of months. And letting those of you who haven't yet made it back know that we miss you at Inspire. Just to remind everyone, it is important that you pass the Covid screening questionnaire before you come in to the office for a treatment. We are asking anyone who has ANY symptoms of illness to not book appointments until you have been symptom-free for 48 hours, even if you have had a negative Covid test. ... The reason for this is that if Christopher or I get sick, even if its just a cold, we cannot be treating patients and will have to close our offices until we have recovered. So we are trying to limit our exposure to any and all bugs as much as possible so that we can continue to be available to you all for treatment. Thanks for your understanding. Jonathan

Hey Everyone, Just letting you know that Online Booking is once again available. It is very important that if you are booking your own appointment that you comply with the Ontario Ministry of Health regulations which I will add at the end of this post. Please scroll down to the previous post entitled INSPIRE PATIENTS PLEASE READ if you're unfamiliar with these guidelines. We are still only working 4 days a week for now. Christopher is available Monday to Thursday and I am a...Continue reading

INSPIRE PATIENTS PLEASE READ. If you are scheduling an appointment at Inspire, please read through this screening document before you book your appointment. ***** Also, if you are waiting for COVID 19 test results, or you know you will be tested in the next 2 days, please do not book your appointment until AFTER you have received your results. This is VERY IMPORTANT because if you do happen to screen positive, even though I am wearing PPE during your treatment, I will have to...Continue reading

As we start scheduling appointments, just to be clear, the intake form you receive via email when your appointment is booked is to be filled out just prior to your arrival at the clinic, within a couple of hours if possible. Its supposed to give us as current a COVID-19 screen as possible. Also please bring a mask as it is mandatory for treatment at Inspire. If you don't have one they can be purchased at the clinic. Thanks.

Our regulatory bodies, The College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO),and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) have outlined a framework for the gradual reopening of chiropractic amd massage therapy offices with public health and safety being the number one concern at all times. Following these guidelines, Inspire Chiropractic will be proceeding with a gradual reopening on June 15th. Please understand that we have not been given permission to be fully open but...Continue reading

As I am sure many of you are aware, Chiropractors and Registered Massage Therapists have been given permission to begin a "gradual reopening" of non-emergency services. Please be aware that this is in no way a full return to being open. Things are going to proceed much differently than before and still at a very scaled down version of what we were doing before lock-down. We are planning on accepting patients again starting the week of June 15th. ... Unfortunately I will not be accepting any new patients at this time until I am able to clear the back log of current patients who are in need of treatment. Online booking will NOT be available for the near future. There is much to do to prepare for this so I would appreciate your patience over the next 2 weeks and not start calling for appointments until we announce that we are ready. I will be posting more information by early next week as far as what our expectations are and what we will be requiring of you based on the directions given to us by the provincial government as well as our regulatory body, I know its been a long time since many of you have been able to receive treatment and I appreciate your patience during this difficult time. There is a significant amount of work to be done before we can reopen. I would ask that you hang in there for a couple more weeks and allow Christopher and I to plan and prepare so that things can move forward with few difficulties as we enter this next phase. Thanks for your understanding. Jonathan and Christopher

Wishing all you Moms today a very special Mother's Day. I was fortunate enough to have two moms in my life. This is my first year without either of them. Thinking of them this morning I realize that the most important thing about both of them is that they were Present. It wasn't what they did for me or if they bought me things or anything like that. It is just that they showed me lots of love and were present in my life. That's what seems most important as I look back. And ...notice I didn't say perfect. That's a ridiculous notion and standard no one, including you moms, should try to live up to. They were full of love and a consistent presence in my life. So for all you moms out there that struggle and doubt and wonder if you are a good enough mom, if you love your kids and are there when they need you, you are. Hope your day is filled with love and gratitude from the people you love, big and small.

Banksy does it again. So much gratitude for all of our front line workers from doctors, nurses, PSW's, paramedics, and police officers to the grocery store workers and others providing service to the rest of us, many many Thanks.

Hey everybody, I've had a few inquiries as to when we will be reopening. At this point , your guess is as good as mine. We have had no guidance to date or been given any indication as to when we will be allowed to resume business. BC has suggested mid-May, but since we have had 10x the number of infections in Ontario, I would guess at least another month after that. Chris and I will be sure to let you all know as soon as we have any idea. Trust you are all doing well. Take care. Jonathan

Not sure if any of you caught Governor Andrew Cuomo's press briefing just now, but a pretty amazing conversation about who we were as people and how will this crisis change us. Admitting his own short comings as a son and a dad as far as what's important and connecting with his kids. Refreshing moment of personal honesty and reflection from a person in a position of power. Start at 39:30.

This is what happens when I have time to sit and think..... Feel free to scroll on by.... When we've come through the other side of this crisis, I'm anxious to see how we as a society respond from the perspective of "How does this reset our "normal"?" What will we take from this societal pause? Will we pick right up with those lives we all complained about that were too busy, too hectic, where we didn't have enough time to look after ourselves, spend time with our families,... spend time in nature? Or will this forced isolation and the devastating losses around the world make us realize that life is too short to fill with meaningless busy-ness? The Stoics would remind us Memento Mori - realize that you could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think. Fill your time with things that mean something. Are you scared to die because you will miss the thing you are doing right now? Is that thing scrolling Facebook, engaging in online arguments with strangers, working too much, watching Netflix or playing video games for hours a day? Are these the things that we fear losing through death? Or are we filling our days engaging in activities and building relationships that we never want to lose? Seneca said "You want to livebut do you know how to live? You are scared of dying - but tell me, is the kind of life you lead really any different from being dead?" The present moment is the only thing that's certain. Think of yourself as dead. You have lived your life. Now take what's left and live it properly - Marcus Aurelius

"Be good to each other. A disease like the plague can only threaten our lives. But evil, pride, hypocrisy, selfishness, fear - this attacks our humanity." Marcus Aurelius "Remember the core virtues the Stoics want us to live by: kindness, humility, service, wisdom. We can't waste time. We can't take people or things or health for granted. We should and must cherish what matters. We should and must be good to each other. " Ryan Hamilton

If you have ANY extra hand sanitizer, nitrile (or even vinyl or latex - they will use them as a last resort if needed) gloves, or masks at home or your business, PLEASE get a hold of Robin and drop them off at Alexandra Hospital as they are getting close to a desperate situation with PPE supplies , despite what the gov't has been saying. The supply chain is struggling so let's work as a community to help the ones who are putting themselves at risk on the front line. Thanks

Was watching a recent TEDTalk with Bill Gates and this point came up which not only helps clarify why social distancing is so important but also gives some optimism to our situation IF we do our part for as long as is needed. The Ro is the reproductive rate of the contagion, meaning how many people one person can infect. Before the social isolation measures were put in place, COVID19's Ro was estimated to be from Ro=1.4 to as high as Ro=3.9, meaning one person was on average ...infecting up to 4 people. Left unchecked this would cause an exponential increase of infections. However, if the Ro<1, meaning one person is on average infecting less than one person, or that it takes multiple people to infect one person, then exponentially over time that number is eventually driven down to 0 infections. Social Isolation is our main means of producing that Ro result. It is KEY, not just now in the short term but even for a few weeks after we see the curve flatten out. So we need to be patient and focused to drive that number to zero. See more

I'd just really like to take a second to thank all of the folks working at the grocery stores in town. Every single store employee I've come across at both of our local stores has been calm, professional and courteous, even though I suspect their nerves are just as frayed as everyone else's, and they'd rather be home sheltering. I hope all of us when we are there express our thanks, and when this is all over, I hope the town in some official capacity thanks all of them for serving their community so selflessly.
