I have been asked many times to join NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing). Finally, I joined this July. So glad that I am part of the organization now.

During the school closure time, I miss seeing all my students. However, I received many messages from my former students. That really warms my heart during this tough time. One of my former piano students Ethan sent me a very touching message today that melt my heart. So happy to see my former students are doing so well and they still remember me. This is the most wonderful reward for teaching. Thank you to all my students who have given me so much laughter, happiness and... memory. I miss you all. This is what Ethan wrote to me and sent me a picture that he drew. "Hi Mrs. Chow, It’s Ethan C. I’m not sure how well you remember me, but I was very sad when you left Muskoka. I know I wasn’t the best student, but one of my biggest regrets was not taking your lessons as seriously as I ought to have had. I’m a student at Sheridan now, working on my bachelor of animation, and I’m still forever enthralled by music, even theory now. I wasn’t able to continue piano much longer after you left (no one could replace you) but I wanted to thank you anyways. In many ways, you had been more family to me than the many aunts, uncles, and grandparents that I never got to see. The echoes of your influence still shape who I am, especially as an artist. Even though I don’t play music as much as I’d like to anymore, I’ve learned to channel what you taught me about art and discipline into other aspects of my life.Thank you, from the depths of my heart."

GOCAA International Vocal Competition Final Round Winner Junior Vocalist Contract Award: Adrit Panda

A big congratulation to my student Adrit Panda who won the Junior Singer Contract Award at GOCAA International Vocal Competition at Berklee College of Music (Boston Conservatory). For receiving this award, he will do the winners concert tour around China and do a professional studio recording. What a great achievement and memory to wrap up my 15+ years of private teaching in Ontario.

I attended the OYMI Award Ceremony with my student Adrit on July 19th. He achieved 2 First Places, 1 Second Place and $75 Scholarship. He was chosen from the C...anadian region to compete in Boston for the GOCAA International Competition. Please wish him good luck! Inspiring Sounds Music Studio is officially closed today June 24th. There were many hugs and tears during the last week of lessons. All my students made me proud. I will remember each and everyone of my students, parents colleagues, friends and supporters for the past 15 years. Thanks to everyone who was a part of my musical journey in Ontario. I am grateful to meet all of you. THANK YOU! Thank you for all the wonderful gifts, flowers, and cards. Also, nice to see some of my colleagues and say goodbye at the AGM of ORMTA Barrie branch. Best wishes to everyone!

Congratulations to Aahan, Adrit, Mike and Nyla who achieved the scholarships at South Simcoe Arts Council Music Festival. They will attend the Award Ceremony and Gala Concert this Saturday June 15th at 2 p.m. in Alliston. Please come join us. What a great day to be at Ontario Provincial (St. Catherine) with my student Adrit. Nice weather! It would be my last year to be at Provincial in Ontario. I will miss going to Provincial with my students.
