Trick or treat forecast.... Looking at some fairly cold temperatures this evening, so bundle up under the costume if possible! Milder, as you get towards the coast and islands where temperatures are more so close to 10 to start and finish at near 5. ... We have some active weather for Haidi Gwaii, and much of the Northern portion of the province with rain, snow, and wind North of Prince George. South of Prince George, the Okanagan, Interior, Desert, Vancouver, and surrounding areas., including Vancouver Island. look for fair weather however, it will be chilly! stay safe and have a happy Halloween and a great weekend! ~James

Had the heater on once again today?? I know I sure did! You may want to bring in some extra wood for the fire and keep that furnace going non-stop, we are talking bitterly cold temperatures over the next several days, reaching nearly the entire province! Highs by the end of the week into the weekend will struggle to get above freezing, meanwhile overnight and morning lows will drop below -10 and that is not including the wind chill! And of course! Many parts of BC seen snow today! Including the higher elevations in the Interior. Highs struggled to stay above 5 degrees in Kamloops today, while our normal high this time of year is 13 degrees! We have a BRIEF warm upcoming for tomorrow, but an even bigger cold air mass is coming for the latter part of the week! and even some more snow! Do we warm up again for the last week of October? It's cold!! Very cold! Check out these current Temperatures as of 8pm... the coldest spot in the province right now is -11*C in Yo-Ho Park! near the border of Alberta. -10*C in Dawson Creek right now. Elsewhere in the North, we have temperatures into the -5 to 0*C range! and that stretches down all the way towards Clinton! ... For the Okanagan Desert & Interior, temperatures are a bit milder! between 5 and 10*C. For Coastal BC from Victoria to Vancouver and Vancouver Island and NW Coast. Temperatures are fairly comfortable for this type of year at this hour! between 8 and 12*C, a tad cooler in the NW coast near the Alaska border where it's about 6*C in Terrace & Prince Rupert. For Haidi Gwaii, It's mild! temperatures of 8-10*C. We will see bitter cold air tonight for Northern and Central BC, and a look at some much colder air and snow in the forecast coming up shortly! ~Lead Student Meteorologist James Follett

Solander so far has the highest wind gust today, recorded early this morning at a hurricane force 130 km/h!! We'll have more on a list of the strongest wind gusts later in the evening update! along with a BIG CHILLY forecast!
