While Cat 5 Hurricane Iota is devastating South America, We could have a Tropical Storm ( Kappa) form later in the week in the Caribbean very close to where Iota developed. An hour ago, Grand Etang had a wind Gust of 96 km/h!! strongest so far today in the province. These winds will continue to increase in parts of CB through tonight where some areas could see Gusts well over 100 km/h. ~ James

Frosty weather will return tonight! But here is the good news!!! It warms up after thanksgiving with temperatures soaring back into the 20's with a touch of humidity and rainfall. Thanksgiving will be gorgeous!!! and feel just like it! highs in the single numbers to around 10-degrees. 3 Strong to severe Thunderstorm cells has just developed over the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton. These thunderstorms are producing heavy torrential rainfall, strong gusty winds, intense thunder & lightning as well as some small pea-sized hail. If in the area, please seek indoor shelter! if you can not, go to the lowest ground and stay away from trees and water. Any pets should be brought in and windows closed. ... ~ James

The line of storms has pretty much dissipated, However there are still a few storm cells around. A few non-severe thunderstorms are still possible over next few hours. Thunderstorms are expected to be completely gone by 4am. ... Thunderstorms over Southern, Eastern, Northern, and Cape Breton Nova Scotia is no longer expected. Digby, Greenwood, Amherst, Kentville, New Glasgow & Truro are the only ones left who are seeing some thunderstorms or still have a slight chance. A dozen storm cells just developed off the coast of Annapolis Valley and Kings County. 2 of them are Strong shakers while 1 is a wild house shaker. These cells are capable and are producing hail, strong winds, torrential rain, and intense thunder and lightning. If you're in Middleton, Bridgetown, Greenwood & Berwick, Please stay indoors! A wild house shaker thunderstorm, this one is producing hail and strong winds as well as torrential rainfall, this is moving towards the Berwick area and should arrive in 30 mins to an hour. ~James

Tracking fast moving strongly to isolated severe thunderstorms now racing towards the western part of the province. These storms seem to be picking up steam and may enter counties sooner than expected. They are also maintaining Intensity. Some of these storm cells are capable of producing:... - Torrential heavy rains that may cause local flash flooding - small pea to nickel size hail - Intense loud thunder - Strong gusty winds up to 90 km/h - intense cloud to GROUND lightning These are cloud to ground storm cells which are one of the most dangerous compares to cloud to cloud. If you're outside, please take cover NOW! If you can not, run away from trees and water! and find low ground until the storm has passed.
