Lora Carter 10 hrs For all those who have followed my brain tumor and recovery journey. Yesterday was my next appointment with the neurosurgeon. As some of you may know, the Dr who was lead my case is on a year's sabbatical which started in may of 2019, so the Dr who we saw in July and again yesterday assisted with my surgery but he is also a neurosurgeon. My appointment went well. They did another MRI to check on things. They can still see something where the tumor was bu...t don't know if it is scar tissue or residual tumor. It has shrunk so they are happy and I don't have to go back for a check-up and yearly MRI until January 2021. Basically, I can return to all normal activities including sports as long as I start slow and increase as I'm able. Thank you all for your prayers and support to me and our whole family during this past year. See more

Although we really enjoy our time with our Filipino family at Christmas and New Year, we are glad to have the extreme business behind us. I'm not sure anyone can believe it, BUT we are past the halfway mark for this time - here in the Philippines. This time has been a very busy time for me as well as for Rob. The online teaching has kept me very busy and has been a blessing in so many ways. I'm hoping to share those stories when we get back to Canada. I wanted to share pict...ures from Rob's time in prison. He has been making trips to Maximum alone for over a month. Regulations for getting into Maximum and the searches when we enter, became very aggressive and intimidating - so I dropped out of all the trips to Maximum. Rob went in alone on almost all of his trips in December. We still have dear brethren in Maximum and we're praying that something will change in the near future - to make it possible for me to join Rob again when he goes in. I've included a number of pictures from different times that Rob was in Maximum. See more

We hope everyone has had a very good holiday and that you all have a safe and prosperous New Year. Again it has been a while since I've had the chance to post something - so I'll try to do several posts to bring everyone up to date on what is happening here. I'm including a number of pictures from around Christmas-time. The Children's Home often has visitors during this time and once in a while, Rob and I join the children. The first pictures are of several Mennonite families... who live near us. They came and sang for the children. It was really beautiful. The evening pictures are of our Christmas Eve celebrations. During the celebrations, we said " Goodbye" to Lynne - who has been the social worker here at the Home for over 20 years. She will be going to take care of her elderly father. Once again, on Christmas Day we visited the Water Park with the children. That day a typhoon hit the central Philippines and caused a lot of damage. Mercifully, we only had lots of rain and cool weather - at least for us it was cool. In spite of cooler weather and rain, we still had a great time with the children. I'll be posting pictures from Rob's recent visits to our church's in prison very soon. See more

Once again we are faced with saying "goodbye" to a dear friend, here in the Philippines. On Wednesday, December 4th, another friend, brother, and Godly co-worker peacefully stepped from this life into the next. Pastor Sandy Molo, has been struggling for some time with many health issues. Last week, he was admitted to the hospital and only a few days later, he peacefully passed away. We have known for some time about his health issues, but we did not expect to say "goodbye" so soon. He was highly respected, loved and relied on by many - and will be sorely missed by everyone.
