With hunting season in full swing, safety should be in the forefront of everyone's mind. Injuries can happen anywhere at anytime, and being in a remote area with a dangerous tool increases the risk. If you, or someone else, ends up seriously hurt in the wilderness then you could be hours or days away from rescue. Basic first aid, including trauma care, is an essential skill for everyone, especially hunters. If you haven't already done so, please consider taking a first aid co...urse (that includes trauma care) from a reputable provider. Check out this article that I wrote a few years ago for a taste of some of the skills you should be familiar with. Always practice good firearms safety, including identifying your target and having a safe backstop behind whatever you’re shooting at. Stay safe, and happy hunting!
